Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

yep adne has the right idea there, bought a 2nd hand crush gate off aristo, attached one side to existing wall and sunk a new post for the other side, hung a 9 ft gate off the new post and will use for cows calving, its handy as can take 9ft gate off or open back if vet needed to do section etc

You could also just buy a calving gate which consists of a 10 or 12 foot gate with a sculling gate on one end. The centre of the gate is on hinges and can be opened around to corner the cow into the sculling gate and hold her in place. It is held at the rear by a chain which also acts as an anti kicking device. It is great for milking a cow, dosing/injecting, or giving a newborn calf a suck safely. We bought one with a shed that we built 6 years ago and then made another one for calving pens that we built - not much to making it. Any half decent welder/fabricator would do it in a few hours. Couple of neighbours have taken ours down to bring it to get a copy made of it. Can give you the number of the guy that we bought the original one from. He is doing great deals at the moment. He is based in Roscommon.

An ordinary 10ft gate may have too many bars in it to work through - in case you ever want to get practical use out of it.
