Dopey Administrators

Some time back I was at an international conference in London, at the start of which one of the organisers got up and announced some housekeeping rules, which included the helpful information:

'For those of you who don't speak English there will be a simultaneous translation available via your headphones.'

Sits down. Stoney silence. Receives nudge in ribs. Hops up again: 'Er in French, German and Spanish.' Sits down again.

More stoney silence. Man with exasperated look on face gets up.

'Pour ceux qui ne comprennent pas l'Anglais, il y aura un traduction.

Für die Leute die können nicht Englisch verstehen, es gibt eine übersetzung. '

etc etc.

I was reminded of this when I saw a message to me from an administrator in a forum from which I had been excluded.

Managed to read it anyway after a little adjustment.

Don't bother reinstating me you muppets, I'm outta here.
