Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got this, can you cancel straight away once you've made your first order?

This is with groupon.co.uk, will deliver to Ireland? Apologies, not familiar with Groupon.

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,585 ✭✭✭✭antodeco

The boxes actually come directly from Japan!

  • Registered Users Posts: 36 Eoin3

When I went to enter my card details in Groupon it only allowed entry of a postcode for the address. Worried they might assume that the Eircode was a UK postcode.

I see you get a coupon now for the actual company website now though, so I presume I'll be able to enter my proper address there.

Did anyone have difficulty inputting their zip code on TokyoTreat? What did you use?

It's whatever Eircode is on your credit card.

So can you cancel the subscription as soon as you've paid.

Hope so ... I purchased and got confirmation email, but when I go into "Subscriptions" in my Groupon profile, there's nothing there saying I'm subcribed to anything

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,189 ✭✭✭ThePott

I think the subscription would be on TokyoTreat's website so be careful in case they've signed you up.

Tried signing into TokyoTreat's using the login details I used for Groupon ... didn't recognise me ... so I just cancelled the whole thing ...

You have to set up a separate account and put in the groupon code on your voucher.

made progress on different browser but now keeps rejecting the zip ( was using my eircode) - any work around ?

Won't let me go through because my card has insufficient funds despite the order total being €0. Does it still charge?

Think it charged me like €1, but they might've just been verifying the card.

    Still rejecting zip

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Sols12

Per the above the zip is the zip code against your card. So wherever you originally got your Revolut card delivered too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,365 ✭✭✭✭McMurphy

I got mine sorted in the end, but it isn't exactly clear from the instructions what to do tbh.

Anyway, looks like a decent box of sweets for 11€.

I'm using the eircode registered against my card but not working.

I take it your eircode was accepted?

Can't get past the zip code

Each time I try the tokyotreat take a €0.91 cent authorisation payment even tho it's not going on to the next page.

If anyone knows how to get past the zip code please do let me know

I used eircode and revolut same on both.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,845 ✭✭✭Jet Black

Eventually got it to work though PayPal with a revolut card. My card is registered in Dublin 11 so 11 in the zip box worked. They did try and charge a full month even though I had the code from Groupon.

Anyone know when you can cancel the sub? I'm afraid it'll cancel my actual (one and only) order if i do it too soon.

About the zip code - I worked my way through credit and debit cards until it accepted one, in case that helps anyone

    Great deal, thanks OP

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,189 ✭✭✭ThePott

I was gonna wait till it's shipped, just worried they'll wait to ship it until it's too late to cancel but that seems unlikely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,553 ✭✭✭murphyebass

I just did this for two lots of sweets.

You buy the groupon voucher/s and redeem them as normal, follow the link they send you copy the code into the Tokyo site and “buy” for zero obviously, then subscribe. That gets you the sweets at that price but you need to got to the Tokyo site then and unsub which to be fair to them is easily done, view plan under subscribe and cancel sub.

It’s not simple simple but it’s not rocket science. Thanks op. Couple of good Xmas pressies assuming they arrive in time.

    I found this

    In 2 - 3 days
We'll prep your box and send you a confirmation email once your box has been shipped.

We should be good to go with cancellations mid week

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,189 ✭✭✭ThePott

Mine shipped today, cancelled the subscription.

    hi all

    I have 2 groupon vouchers ( 2 accounts - me and partner)

I have already purchased one box and got an email shipped

would any one know can I use the 2nd voucher code on the tokyotreat log in I created, or do I also need to register as a new customer to claim a second voucher - on the tokyotreat own site I mean ?

    thanks

I wonder will we be lucky enough to receive these before Christmas. Mine was shipped yesterday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,364 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

I got mine today. Haven't tried anything yet but the first thing I saw when I opened the box was Luffy and a bag of chocolate covered crisps so it's already the best thing I've bought this year.

I hope the crisps are decent.

    I was charged €11.50.

Decent offering for that price with postage included from Japan. Worth the money.

I just tried the drink. It was jelly in a can. I couldn't finish it and I feel a bit weezey after it

  • Registered Users Posts: 36 Eoin3

Tried a few bits. KitKats were nice, the rest...
Think I'll be sticking to the Tayto and Dairy Milk from here on. :D

    don't we all?

    My thoughts:

Happy with what I got for €11.50. Fun thing to try, especially without reading the booklet telling you what everything is. I'm just choosing something random each night.

It's normally €32 per month for the box we got. People paying €32 for this need their head checked! It's worth nowhere near that. :D

Drink was horrendous! You were supposed to shake the can before drinking it. Don't know if you did that, but I did and it was still awful. :pac:

I've just been charged despite cancelling after buying (I have the "Your plan has been cancelled email")

I got mine last week, not had much chance to try things but I liked the little cookies that I tried and that orange kit Kat is yum
