Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Personally, would prefer to simply reduce waiting time for trades but see that's probably too minor a proposition. Also no item for waivers (moving to FAAB, reset every week or status quo?)

Apologies, I missed the waivers question. I'm not sure it's a good idea to change the poll at this stage given a significant number of people have voted already.

    1. Move to FAAB for waivers. Did this in my home league, and it's the single greatest thing we have done. Adds an extra dimension to strategy , and help reduces lads sticking in waiver claims for the sake of it.

    2. Not too bothered, but the Points For tie breaker is probably fairer. The aim is to score points. When you have a 3 or 4 way tie, you need NASA to explain who wins that tie breaker, and why!

    3. Not a great fan of PPR, tried it in 1 league this year, but we're gonna change back. You get some ridicously high scores......

Other than that, I'd be happy enough

Could you vote via the surveymonkey link in the other thread?

Just to get some clarity on draft order. Last year in a league with 16 teams and 4 division. I was confused with my draft order at each round, i.e. 1st Round - 16th place, 2nd round - 1st place, 3rd round - 16th place, 4th round - 1st place and so on, it stayed in the same format? Was this the way the draft was supposed to be, was it fair? Thanks.

Yes, it's called a snake draft, your position in round one is inverted in round 2. So if your pick first in round 1 you will be last in round 2. If you pick 5th in round 1 you will be 12th in round 2.

it's so that the same person doesn't have the first pick in every round and to balance out the advantages of getting a high draft pick. If you end up picking first it will be 30 picks before you pick again.

Thanks Adrian. Is it supposed to follow that format for rd 1, 2, 3, 4 and son one. Anyways, didn't realise that it was snake draft last year as the previous year, my league draft order to my recollection was random draft order? Thanks

The first round order is random generated, from then on if pick 1st in round 1 you will pick 16th in round 2, 1st in round 3,16th in round 4 and so on!

Thanks for all the hard work Adrian. Disappointing to see we're moving to ppr. I thought what we had was something very unique but can see the upside too.

Very surprised to see the trade wait period to be kept the same. 48+ hour wait time will likely reduce trading again. Thanks for organising all the responses! :)

Yea, that one is a shocker imo. There's no benefit to that long of a delay. If it was even reduced to 24 hrs it wouldn't be as bad - oh well, democracy rules!

I can't believe we are moving to ppr. We already have a ppr league.
This shouldn't have even been up for discussion.
It was started as a standard scoring league and should be left as such. People looking for angles where they feel they might be better is what's going on here.
It's easy to set up a new ppr league, a boards one with divisions. Why was there even a discussion on the scoring format?
This league has been going a long time. Gotta have a bit of respect for those who set it up.

Didn’t even know there was a vote and I think I posted in this thread. Ha

Shame that PPR is in (and it’s my preferred format - just liked this one being different)

The way this league works is decided by the users, if the majority want to change then we will change.

It's a bit late to be saying this shouldn't have been up for discussion now. This thread has been open since November, giving everyone a chance to have their say and make their arguments etc.

Thanks for organising Adrian, great changes - looking forward to the year ahead.

Tbf to eagle, this is something he said repeatedly also pointing out there was already a ppr league on the forum

I've been saying it all along. Where was the poll? Who said we were having a vote on it?

You were one of the people that voted, you were also one of the people to suggest an item to be voted on.

Can we have a vote on n changing the waiver wire?
I feel it should be reset every week to worst gets first.
It's very unfair that a guy who gets no injuries can stay on top until a juicy player comes on the waiver wire. It's just helping those who are having a good season to get even better.
If you were unlucky enough to lose two early picks to injury early on your season is basically over. If it reset you'd have a chance to get competitive again.

You mean for next season or for this season?

I think it's too late for this season personally, We had a thread open for 6 months for suggestions on rule changes and this wasn't mentioned. Furthermore we voted on this in 2018, when the results were as follows:

Move to Free agent Budget - 12.68%
Move to bottom of the list after you pick - 59.15%
Order should reset every week - 28.17%

Has opinions changed that much in the 2 seasons since?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,308 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

Way too late for any more votes IMO

Should only be done at the end of the season and once it hits August, every thing should be final

I think all.these other changes like flex and now ppr would affect it greatly.
