Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You could get a job for the races no bother if you asked them now. They give you a job on the spot. Curry's, Schuh, and some restaurant in town are looking atm.

Yeah, they are still hiring although the hiring for operators is nearly all done through www.cregg.ie

Both Nortel & Cisco are recruiting software engineers at the moment, as is IBM I believe.

Cisco and SAP were hiring when I was last looking, but according to them I didn't meet their criteria. I got calls from a few places but only one in Galway and lucky enough I got the job. Professionals.ie was the best website and CPL were by far the best recruitment agency and they specialise in IT

Check out the employment section on www.galwayadvertiser.com - there can be some IT work in there, I know there were a couple of IT jobs there last week.
I would second CPL as well, they have a fair bit going on IT wise. Probabaly a good idea to actually call into them with your CV and discuss yourself and background with them.

Just a word of warning however, the IT sector in Galway is nowwhere near as much of an employees market as it is in Dublin and jobs, especially good jobs are far thinner on the ground than they are in Dublin with more people competeing for less positions.

The chief I.T. companies hiring right now in Galway are Fidelity, IBM (Vallent), Cisco, Nortel. The market has hugely improved in the city in the past 12 months or so.
