by chance went to look for Feist Tickets and looks like a number of tickets available in Dress circle ( ignore Sold Out ) on the OH website if anyone has any interest ! I did not do a full check out but I was able to add tickets to a basket so looks like they are available ...

There will not be another date. However, some tickets have already come up for sale, half thetickets were not sold, but held by festival organisers, so there is a chance more will come up

The previously “sold out” Feist gig has about 40 tickets onsale now.

Just like Damien Rice, about half the tickets were held by festival organisers, and now some of these being released for sale.

New Jackson show at Dali has been cancelled. Replaced by someone named Pariah, who I am not familiar with.

Another lash of around 100 “Feist” tickets previously “sold out” (= organisers held back way too much), are now onsale on Cork Opera House.

Plenty of tickets left for the 3 performances of Swan Lake at COH, they are now doing clever meal deals, in an effort to shift tickets with the excellent: Paradiso, Isaacs, Good Day Deli(Nano Nagle Centre).

Final and full lineup is expected in the coming days, aswell as the free music trail also.

Lots of interesting stuff this year. I hope it does well even in the absence of the more familiar names.

A few have come and gone, i am sorted, but i would expect to see more cone up, they held back more than 500 tickets, certainly 10% of that has already been released in last few weeks.

In a special free concert taking place at the Kino on Saturday 14th, Crash Ensemble, Ireland’s leading new music ensemble, celebrate the launch of CrashLands, the album. First premiered live in rural locations around Ireland in 2017, CrashLands is a studio recording of nineteen works by some of the leading composers of new music. They will also present the Cork premiere of Grey Area by local composer Sam Perkins.

In addition to the ticketed shows, the dons of house music in Cork, Fish Go Deep bring a late-night party to Cyprus Avenue, and local electronic trio HappyAlone and Dublin hip-hop artist Nealo will also appear across the weekend.

There will also be a number of exciting secret shows and pop-up events that will be announced about an hour before they happen over the weekend –keep a close eye on the SFSH social media for those.

EDIT: Listening to a few tracks this morning and I'd put Joyero and JFDR on a list of things I'd like to see, alongside Bad Bones, Bantum, Godknows and Denise Chaila.

In 2017, the only free gigs that required pre-registration were Big Red Machine at St Luke's and Justin Vernon in CIT school of music, I think. Everything else was just a matter of showing up but once something fills, you're turned away. With those two, they gave away tickets in the days before the festival started so keep an eye on their social media just to be safe.

I hope they confirm a few bits later in the week because I'd like to be able to plan what I can see!

Will be keeping an eye on the people mixtape. I don't expect Justin Vernon but I'd be hopeful of one of Feist or Damien Rice as well as Bryce Dessner and some small acts. But I am basing that on nothing so don't anyone get excited and blame me after!!

Mary Hickson was on the Point of Everything podcast this week and she suggested Damien and Feist will be doing a few extra gigs, but I think Feist might be included in a Kino show already and the Lhasa show, so that might be it for her. She kept emphasising that a lot of the line ups and the pop up shows will be decided on the week after they have a residency with some of the acts beforehand so its hard to know what to expect.

He’s the only one which are hard to come by only a few left for Feist, and plenty left for all the other COH gigs, but its likely more will pop up for both, due to the vast quantities,held before the original onsale.

Full timings and whole schedule, should be out in coming days. They need to be releasing this by Friday morning, at the latest, as festival officially starts next Tuesday with first performance of Swan Lake in COH, but i’d say we’l get it this Thursday.(eg later today)

Looking forward to this and hope to get a few concerts in.
Really great seeing this happening in Cork hope it gets well supported as some of the acts are really cool - fair play Mary Hickson. I listened to the podcast of her interview on the point of everything she is so down to earth … so jealous of her musical friendships

So many things on at this, but delighted with the diverse selection, going to be a very busy few days.

There are i notice 3 x “secret” gigs, where anyone could be playing, they did this last time also, but this time, they are listed on the Programme:

Tom Barrys - 5pm Friday
Winthrop avenue(Okd Oak) -Saturday 18:30
Crawford & Co. - 19:00

Based on their past form, there maybe additional pop up gigs also, last time out, these were announced very last minute on social media, so being in town anyway, which i will be, is best way to go !

Due to an unexpected family emergency Richard Reed Parry’s Quiet River show is cancelled.
SFSH hope to reschedule the show at another stage in the future.

I'm guessing one of those slots is for Christof Van der Ven, who was announced on Facebook today. The others could well be someone already on the bill doing a second show (I'd love a Feist show in Tom Barrys :eek::P) or maybe someone smaller. I know last time, Rusangano Family weren't on the bill but they appeared at one of the events (the food/music one in Reardens) so it could be something like that even?

I'm for the weekend so I'd say I'll just hang around and see what I can see anyway. Hopefully lots of good stuff, even if none of it is quite as high profile as the National/Bon Iver like last time.

There's always a really nice vibe in the city for this festival, though, so that alone will make for a few good days.

Bon Iver gigs next week:
Sept 10th: Portland, Oregon
Sept 12th: San Francisco
Sept 15th: Los Angeles

So while the 14th is free, there's no hope of him flying from California to Cork for an unannounced gig and then immediately back to California for a show in LA.

Or at least that's what I'm telling myself. :eek::P

That's weird. I checked his tour during the week and must have read it incorrectly as I thought he was free for next month. I can rest easy now knowing it's okay to miss the Mixtape gig.

Just listened to “The Point Of Everything” podcast where Mary Hickson was interviewed, some great insight into how the whole festival works, and discussions about the events in detail, and the artists involved.

Sounds like a huge amount of work to put this together.

Mary also mentioned they were sorry Thom Yorke could’t be there, which is most likely where those original rumours came from.

More surprises to come at the festival i’d say, events not announced yet, or may come up. Several artists are in Cork for the week, in order to meet up and collaborate etc, so anything could happen.

Going to Swan Lake on Thursday, seems to be selling poorly, they are pushing them hard, and had meal +ticket deals, with a few restaurants for the lowest selling nights which are Tuesday & Wednesday.

Yorke performed this piece with Dressner and a few others a while back, only very few of those gigs happened London & Paris only i think.
It is classical- mainly piano based, possibly a bit heavy- even for me.

Might take another look at the Spiritual America, but my festival schedule, is fairly insane, Saturday in particular.

Was thinking of going to go to LHasa, but went for Rosie Carney in Coughlans instead on Sunday, there are a few brunchs on Sat/Sun as well in River Lee & Crawford &Co, which look interesting too.
