Okay so this is more a tentative enquiry than anything else....

I have absolutely no idea how much an artist would charge or what the going rate is, but I have a small picture (a CD cover actually), and I was wondering how much it would cost for someone to do a canvas painting of it?

Ideally I would like to get the CD cover blown up so I could hang it on my wall, but I'm not aware of any place that could enlarge it without the image becoming blurred and pixelated. So alternatively I would like to find a talented artist who could paint it for me on canvas, really bring it to life, and would do a good job.

Like I said, I have no idea how much it would cost to do this, but I am aware of the talent, time, concentration and dedication it would take for someone to do this. I'm working in a low paying 18 hour a week job, which just about covers my rent and food, so I'm not exactly flush with cash or anything.

But I would not expect anyone to just do it for free, I would hope to pay them what they deserve.

Hopefully someone here can give me a few pointers on the situation!! Below is a link to the image I'd like painted, if it's any help! Any comments would be appreciated!

Jungleman,

There are a couple of options open to you.

You can do an image search and either find a higher res image, or possibly locate the album cover in an online poster shop. If you want to PM me there are two services I can provide (one more cost-effective than the other), which will get the job done with great results.

Hi,

I am looking for an artist to make me a stencil of an image that I want to copy onto canvas. The image is pop art/graffitti style art. I just want the stencil as I can spray paint myself, but have no hope of doing the stencil myself!
Or if anyone can redirect me to a company that I can pay do to up a stencil for me that would be much appreciated.

strix.org.uk is a stencil genorator its free to use . you can upload your image and chose the stencil you ike then go to the print shop and get them to enlarge it , simple, bex

Folks,

Not sure if i'm in the right place or not, but thought I might as well give this a whirl. I am currently working on a project that is quickly coming together, however we are lacking one thing, or rather... person... and that is a graphic artist, one that specializes in concept art.

The prerequisites for this are:

Ability to visualize and add onto existing ideas
Ability to sketch and finalize concept art
Ability to work as part of a team

Good knowledge of Photoshop (or equivalent software) in order to finalize art work.

Note:

Although this may seem like a job advertisement, it is not. This is currently a project that a number of people are working on in their free time, and due to the lacking skill within the group in terms of my request I am looking for outside help.

I am willing to offer monetary awards, after reviewing a portfolio or sample work (this is not big business, and you will need to have a passion for it, if you dont, then this is not for you).

Also, I will want to meet the person who is interested in this project, as we will be meeting face to face on a more frequent basis.

This add is limited to Dublin folks only, that doesnt mean you need to be born and bred here, but it does mean it should be easy enough for you to get into Dublin to meet when the requirement is there and when you are free to do so.

Anybody up for a bit of bodypainting in Cork on July 28th? Cork Bodypainting are making an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records for the biggest number of people to get a full bodypainting in one place. This should be a fun event, and ideal for people who want to try their skill as many artists attending will not have tried this before. Interested? By the way, immediately after the bodypainting, the World Naked Bike Ride starts, and it is expected that many of the models will participate, putting your art work "on display" so to speak.

i know it's a ridiculous idea, but she'll find it hilarious..

kinda in the vein of this in the image...(but obviously not as a superhero... just in my normal clothes..)

wondering if there's a student or hobbyist that would be able to do it or does anyone know anyone who has done something similar...?
i've been to a few websites but not found what i'm looking for.. i am thinking of trying myself but thought i'd put it out there...

Had a passing thought for a gift for a friend so thought I'd just post up here and see if it would be something anyone would be interested in. So I went to America 10 years ago shortly before my 21st birthday and, as she was going to miss it, one of my best friends gave me a signed dollar bill as a small parting gift (only to be used in an emergency!). So it's her 30th birthday shortly and I still have the note so I thought it might be an idea to return it to her in some fashion and that it might be cool to have someone with an artistic touch to use it as a mini canvas of sorts and sketch/colour something unique on it. After which I was thinking I could frame it, or press it between glass.

Anyway, if any of this makes sense, or is of interest to anyone, drop me a PM.

Hey

I want to get an idea how much a canvas as in the picture below would cost. Its a architectural plans in silver point printed on a navy canvas.

I might be able to get something like this printed but for something like this I would love a one of a kind.This person has a architecture plans printed on it, but I would prefer circuitry plans if possible but I'm not overly concerned about that.

If I could get a ballpark figure from someone (very much ball park at this stage) we can go from there.

I am looking for someone to make a loose cover for a futon mattress. Nothing fancy, just need to brighten it up a bit. I think some sort of stretchy material would be best. The mattress measures 54in x 72in. If someone can do this, I would appreciate a PM with an idea of what it might cost. Cheers

Hi all
My latest 'project' is to come up with what to do with a boundary wall approx 6 meters by 1.5/2 meters high, which is beside the patio and west/south west facing.

I have been thinking about a little summer project that would see me convert this to an outdoor mosaic using broken tiles etc. I appreciate it is a bit of a mini-project but I am sure it will keep me out of trouble for a few weekends over the summer

Only downside is I am not the creative type - decent enough 'doer' when it comes to this, but terrible at the design part of it

I am looking for someone to assist in collecting ideas of what we would like on the mosaic from my wife and I, and then translating this to a sketch for us to review and assess. Once agreed, I would like this person to draw the outline on the wall, and I will do the rest.

If interested, please let me know and what type of similar projects you have done in the past. I don't expect other mosaics but murals etc. would be a good start. I don't expect this to be overly complex, but will need to get the balance between my ideas and my wife's

Of course, I don't expect this done for free !!

We're an artist cooperative (a quick google will give you our Facebook and website) and are always looking for new artists to get involved. Generally we ask that you create artwork around a cultural icon of Ireland (of your choice), this may end up displayed on The Icon Walk which is the largest permanent outdoor art installation in Ireland. Looking for someone to do a painting in the Galway city area - needed as birthday present by start of June.
Have a photo of a print I saw a while back that I would like to use as a basis, but would like a few changes to the composition to personalise it. Wouldn't be that big, probably 12"x12" max.

I think this is more likely a watercolour than an oil work, but can take advice.

I'm looking at setting up a website as a little side project, selling a set of cards each week by a different Irish illustrator.

I haven't finalised prices or anything like that but all profits after costs (printing and posting) would be split 50/50 between the site and the artist.

Hi

I am opening a small micro brewery in County Meath, and am looking for someone to do a mural on the wall in our tasting room.
It is a blank canvas 11ft high by 25ft long concrete wall.
No idea what we want, artistic freewill needed.

Can you recommend anyone, what will it cost, money is very tight, lots of free beer if necessary. Brewery is going in as we speak and I would like it done in the next 3-6weeks before we open for tastings.
