Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This was a British comedy series from the early 80s.It followed the weekly adventures of a guy who was sort of innocent and always failing in life. The strange thing about it was it was virtually silent. The lead guy looked kind of like Tim Brooke Taylor from the Goodies but i cant be sure if it was him .

It was Enn Reitel who played the lead in The Optimist - he looks a bit like T-B-T though!

Enn Reitel is someone who is one of the great nearly men of British telly.
He was the lead in numerous sitcoms, all of which are forgotten - Misfits, the New Adventures of Lucky Jim, Mog, the Optimist. He also was one of the original choices to play Del Boy, and he would have been a very diffeent Del to David Jason, but he was too busy and the rest is history.
He's still working and now a big voiceover talent and has been for years, one of the key Spitting Image voices, but he now lives in LA, and has done voices on tons of cartoons and video games. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0718572/
