Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Justice has little, if anything, to do with a disobedient whale.

I don't think they ever sent them to a hotel over night. They probably only do it, if it is a case involving gangs.

Probably because they have lives too and may not want to be away from kids/family for days and days in some cases.

Other than that probably due to cutbacks.

'Sequestration' fell out of favour for a few reasons - for a start, it turns out juries can be trusted to keep their gobs shut outside the jury room - it's also better for juries because they don't have the 'threat' of sequestration hanging over them so they are more likely to take their time and make a considered reasoned decision, rather than any old decision just to get home to watch the telly.

    ....oh yeah,

if you leave juries in a hotel this is the type of sh1te that can happen......

MURDER CONVICT WINS RETRIAL BECAUSE JURY MEMBERS USED OUIJA BOARD

A man jailed for life for a double murder has won a retrial because four members of the jury used a ouija board to consult the spirit of one of his alleged victims.

If they'd held the seance in the jury room they probably could've gotten away with it.

He was found guilty at the re-trial too.
The Court of Appeal quashed Young's convictions when it became known that some jurors at the original trial used a Ouija board after a drinking session during an overnight hotel stay.

It's not the norm, it only occurs in trials where the judge feels there's a need for the jury to be sequestered.
