Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Greenstar bin chips

    Is there really a chip in Greenstar bins? My glass wasn't collected last week, and their reason was that the chip had run out. They said to leave it out and they'd come and fix it.

    No reason why they shouldn't be using an NFD, but I would have thought a barcode is all they would need, with the in-cab system checking your status.

    So where is the chip?

    That's a very good question! We have 3 bins, an ancient grey bin for normal waste that still has a Noble Waste sticker on it, a "brown" bin (which is green!) and a green recycling bin. The grey and brown bins have stickers on them with a barcode, the recycling bin has nothing on it at all.

    I get weight readings for all 3 bins on the Greenstar app though, so there must be a chip in there somewhere.

    I've scanned the stickers on the two bins that have them with an NFC tag reader app on my phone and found nothing, and have also scanned all likely looking places on the other bin as well, but have found nothing, so can only assume it's not NFC but an RFID tag they use, which aren't the same thing apparently.
