Saw this dress on the Asos website, thought it looked great for a casual/professional work look and really handy to throw on in the mornings when I cant be bothered. Its also an eco friendly brand, im trying to be more eco conscious in my fashion choices although its hard, there are so few options and even less affordable ones.
Dress arrived this morning and after trying it on I was so disappointed, it's like a shapeless black bin bag with very flimsy material a string tied around the middle, its not even tied at the waist, its further up and the string is sewn right into the dress fabric so no way of adjusting it. In the photo it looks quite fitted and elegant, in real life its like something out of a magdalene laundry. Frumpy, shapeless, baggy, its also longer than shown in the picture.

For those who are interested in cheaper sustainable fashion Nobody's Child is not too badly priced. I only got one dress from this brand and material was a bit light for my liking. The sizing was also a bit small on that dress. Apparently they are a bit more sustainable and they are keenly priced.

Edit: M&S are selling their stuff and so I think is ASOS.

Don't ask me where I think I'm going, but I nabbed a dress from H&M's The Vampire's Wife collab. I'm sure the quality will be questionable (lace looks a bit scratchy) but I just love her stuff so had to try something. Missed out on the matching cape sadly. Thinking this will be nice with my knee high boots and a fur coat. For all the socialising I'm going to do at Christmas...

I ordered this coat from Dunnes for click and collect. I spotted it instore on Sunday, but I couldn't try it on as it was blocked off due to the 'non-essential' purchases. I have wanted a black casual coat for ages and this looks nice. Hoping its ok size wise as I don't think they will do an exchange in store. They have them in a khaki green colour too which is nice, but I have too many khaki jackets/coats!

Sorry all - I don’t want to derail the thread..... but are the clothing areas in all Dunnes now cordoned off? I haven’t been to my local dunnes since before the lockdown, so just querying if this is now the case..

Lovely coat btw :) looks really warm

Yeah, no clothes are allowed to be purchased in in-store, but you can order online and collect in your local store.

I quite like the structured shoulders...
So a nice pair of fitted leggings - Verso do some great ones, really reasonable all different colours and nice scarf and long jacket.

Also perfect with jeans, nice belt, maybe leather jacket for winter, I do love a midi or maxi skirt with trainers!

I have heard those Verso leggings are meant to be great quality and an Irish company. I must check them out as I'd like a pair of leather look leggings. They are not expensive either. I know a woman who buys them and she said they are really good.

I have both verso and the Spanx. They suck you in as well I find with the Spanx. I’m not tall and the Spanx ones can be quite long. I have the Verso in grey, black and burgundy and I think she had navy and khaki too which I want. She’s also selling a houndstooth jacket I’ve my eye on for again, a really reasonable price!

Also ASOS have 25% off everything today! 😬

Got some new lingerie, bralets and sport bras and a cute grey top. I really could do with deleting that app it’s so dangerous...

Here’s the top, hoping it’s not too short, the bras etc are pretty boring!

That's a neck warmer not a top (it's not stiched together at the sides). You throw it over your top and under your coat. They are nice though.

Laughing here because that gave me a flashback to my teenage years and my father ranting "That's not a skirt it's a belt, go and put some clothes on" :pac:

It's lovely though, be great under a cardigan or coat.

Lol. I have a puffer vest that works on similar principle. It's brilliant, you can wear it under the coat, it gives you warmth but doesn't add bulk.

My husband ordered me these Nike Todo trainers for my birthday! I had mentioned them and he decided to get them! (Like I need more trainers! lol).

They are a waterproof trainer which is great for this time of year as my others are impossible to wear in this weather! I saw them reviewed on YStyle FB page. They are on offer at the moment, but there was a members discount on top when he bought them so they only cost about €33.
    Hopefully they are here soon!!

I am a total convert to Nike's this year! I bought my first pair about 10 years ago and didn't wear them much as they used to cut into my heel and I was put off them. I bought a pair back in March (just before lockdown) in Lifestyle sports and loved how comfy they were. Since then I've bought 2 more pairs, and now these! I think this year alone I have bought 6 pairs of trainers (not all Nikes!)....I have a problem :o:p

It's embarrassing how many of my clothes are bought in Uniqlo. Jil Sander collection went on sale today and most of it is gone. I wanted to get wool trousers but they seems to be gone. I got chinos in size 27 (28 is gone), they will fit me if the sizing is as ridiculously big as for Uniqlo U.

    goods_09_435888.jpg?width=734

I also have this on order but it seems to be lost somewhere in an post delivery labyrinth.

They arrived yesterday (very quick as he only ordered them on Sunday!). They are very comfy and true to size. The last pair I bought a few weeks ago were not true to size and I had to go down a half size.

Boots are absolutely lovely and nice quality for the price.

Jumper and trousers are really well made, excellent material way better quality than the price implies. However both are going back because they are humongous. Normally I'm trouser size 28 or 29 and yet here I'm not sure that size 26 wouldn't be a bit too big. Jumper is also at least a size too big.

Normally I'm not that bothered by vanity sizing but this is ridiculous. I don't think I was 26 in trousers since I was 10.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,722 Mod ✭✭✭✭Twee.

That's such a shame! The trousers looked fab. My friend loves their jeans, I'm waiting on a message back from her to tell me what style and size she got so I can give them a go myself!

Just bought this dress online from Dorothy Perkins, it was the last one left. Been looking for a nice plane black dress for awhile now but its so hard to find one that isnt either too dressy or too frumpy. This one has pockets so that alone was enough for me, just hope it fits. I had to buy it from the petite section which I don't normally buy from.

I spotted a lovely black parka in TKMaxx before lockdown which was perfect - but I mulled over it too long and someone else snapped it up :o

I would have preferred one in black or navy, as I already have a wine coat. But tbh, my one is looking a bit tired, so I'm due a refresh (or so I tell myself!) :p

Picked up the Uniqlo jeans I mentioned before, would have preferred black but they seem like very dark blue. Shipping is pricey at €9 so I popped in a check shirt for my mam for her birthday just to make it worthwhile. Have resisted the Asos sale so far!!!

I got a bit of a notion that I wanted a new winter coat, despite a cupboard full of them, so I've just bought this from Collectif:

    Here's hoping it fits!

I've never had a patterned coat before, but I wanted something either dark green or navy and this is both! Plus it has a hood, which is so useful when you're outside for short periods or it's not quite heavy enough rain for an umbrella.

Did the bulk of my Xmas shopping last night but left with an impulse purchase for myself, typical!

I'd been on the look out for a nice fitted blazer and this was a bit more than I planned to spend but it's fab on. I think I'll pair it with leather leggings and biker boots.
