Hi! New here and to anime :) Only started watching it since September last year. Mainly into Psychological, Thriller, Horror and Action anime :) And a bit of Ghibli too of course xD

Welcome to the party. What have ya watched so far?

Also, saw Psycho-Pass in HMV for €30, pretty damn good for the whole series.

Yeah, I think thats mispriced as its £29 on Amazon. Wonder if they have it on bluray, its listed on xtravisions site anyway.

Its great that HMV are stocking more anime titles on dvd now, but also disappointing that their bluray selection is as poor as it has always been. 5 blurays(3 of which are Afro Samurai S1, S2 and complete) doesnt make a section HMV

I think its €30 as it is probably down in the system as one of the abandoned half season sets, fantastic price. As I mentioned its £29 on Amazon and the rrp is £40 on the dvd set.

As Sephiroth_dude mentioned the series is excellent, watched it on Netflix US 2 weeks ago.

I've actually been itching to get it, but you know they're airing the hour long episodes with extra scenes, so I'm kinda wondering if I should hold off on getting Psycho Pass

Hmm, Mecha isn't really my thing to be honest :L Don't really know why it just never appealed to me :p

OK then, how about Serial Experiments Lain? There's some deep psychological stuff in that.

There's also Madoka, but prepare for the feels.

Seems Anime Limited has put Samurai Flamenco up onto Netflix. I thought it was a good series, can kinda go off the deep end a few episodes in but if you follow it to the end it does make a weird kind of sense.

Of course not, Anime Limited are a UK company and as such they put it up on the UK and Irish versions. Aniplex have the US rights.

    Death Note?

Yeah!! Love Death Note :) One of my favourite anime! Possibly the only anime I felt suspense throughout, loved the dynamic between L and Light...made the mistake of watching the live action though xD Really didn't like that xD

Hmv/Xtravision now have the bluray if Psycho-Pass in stock for €40.
    http://www.hmv.ie/Psycho-pass-Season-1-Part-2/movies-games-entertainment/pd/106844?path=blu-ray

Just ordered it, cant argue with that price as at full rrp it should be €73 and Amazon sell it for £44.

Its great when they mess up and have it marked as a half season set. :D

So were starting into the "last episode of the season"....season. What shows are folks gonna miss most, or not at all?

Standout for me was Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun, just damn funny and adorable in equal measure.

Only buy what you really like and you think you'll watch again ;)

I've got nearly all the Ghibli movies for example, they'll always get a rewatch

Sorry, but the Third Impact has been delayed due to interference by Anno with the English language release of 3.33, it is now scheduled for 2018.:p

IIRC the timeline of Rebuild is in 2016 (1.0) and 2017 (2.0) according to a EvaGeeks Wiki article.

I was making a reference about how ridiculously delayed the English language home release of 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo, an ironic title seeing as Hideaki Anno is making Funimation redo the English dub repeatedly which has caused its delay since its original release of February 2014. At this rate it won't be released here until after the Japanese theatrical release of 3.0 + 1.0 later this year.
