Starting this thread to try collate new comics/Kickstarter campaigns from the Irish comic scene (and hopefully discover some new stuff as well:))

Kicking off with Turning Roads: An Irish Folklore comic anthology (4 days left if you want to get a copy/support. Already funded so anthology will happen:))

    From the campaign page:
Welcome to Turning Roads, a collection of comics retelling old stories out of Irish folklore and mythology. Comprised of work by over thirty creators, Turning Roads addresses familiar tales through new points of view, utilising science fiction, fantasy and magical realism to bring oral tradition and collected tales of mystery and woe into modern and future versions of Ireland.

I’m Paul Carroll, the book’s Editor, and one third of the comic collective known as Limit Break Comics. Following the success of my 2019 Kickstarter for Plexus #1, I’m here to bring about a much larger project. Working with 18 teams of creators, including an artist and colourist for my own contribution for the book, I’m here to present over 70 pages of comics to showcase Irish and international comic talent.

    Creators contributing to the anthology:

Trade of Scarenthood due for release in August 2021.

Three locals involved in the comic: written and line art by Nick Roche. Colours by Chris O'Halloran. Logo design by Wayne Daly.

    From Previewsworld.com:
TO-DO LIST: Drop kids at preschool/ Grab coffee with other parents/ Go ghost-hunting in woods/ Fight demonic entity/ Collect kids/ Naptime.

With their kids away on a field trip, a group of parents disturbs an ancient evil buried beneath the old Church Hall, unearthing a decades-old mystery about a missing child, and inviting something... hungry into their lives. Suddenly, their mornings go from playdates and peanut allergies, to a battle for the souls of one broken family?-and one child in particular.

What scares you the most: fighting demons, or letting your kids down? Nick Roche (Transformers: The Wreckers Saga, Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows) and Chris O'Halloran (Ice Cream Man) have the answers.

Read first 2 and have the remainder in the reading pile.

Love the humour of it and that it's set in Ireland:)
