Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I'm looking to set up a UK company and have the goods fulfilled directly from the UK.

    At the moment they are manufactured in a EU country. I am guessing it makes most sense from a tax point of view for the UK company to buy directly from the manufacturer and get it shipped directly to the fulfilment centre?

    Ideally I'd want to get them shipped to Ireland and then pack them myself before sending to fulfilment centre but I presume thats just asking for trouble.

    What is the benefit of setting up as a UK company vs an Irish one?

    I personally like to touch stock as little as possible so if it worked well I would prefer to send it directly from the manufacturer to the fulfilment center but I'm very confident in my supply chain so not worried about product quality. If you're starting out then that may not be the case.

    As you mention, it will be less hassle to ship from manufacturer to fulfillment company directly.
    The fulfillment company will package the product whatever way you specify before sending to the end user.
    I believe outsourcing is vital for growth, although it can be hard to fully embrace, especially at early stages.

    Not sure how the above relates to the question of a UK company v Irish company?
    Do you already have an Irish company? If so, you can operate this business via the Irish company, potentially registering for VAT in the UK if you need to.
