Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, we have never stayed in galway or mayo. Can you recommend a nice galway / mayo seaside / beach town or ideally a beach house that can be rented?
    thanks

In Mayo you have Achill, scenery and beaches there are epic. It could be argued that the profleration of badly planned holiday homes built in 80s and 90s, affected this, but easily overlooked, as again big island with lots to offer holiday makers. Plenty of self catering homes if that's what you're looking for.

Louisburgh past Westport fantastic choice of beaches lots in the area, namely Silver Strand. Great base to explore this part of South West Mayo and Galway, nearby accessible islands Clare Island and Inisturk. Not far from Leenane Killary Harbour, Kylemore Abbey etc.lots of accommodation types all around.

North West Mayo, Carrowteige, Belmullet area more off the beaten track but lots of stunningly beautiful beaches, with fantastic scenery again and unspoilt coastal areas to name but a few Portacloy, Cross and Srah beaches, fairly big area lots to explore. I'm sure there is self catering accommodation amongst other types

Who are we? (Family, couple, mixed group)
What time of year are you planning on going?
Places like Achill can be very quiet this time of year with a lot of places closed but are busy in the summer.

We are a family with 2 boys age 8&3

Thanks for all the suggestions, great to get an idea. Is there any particular area in Achill that would be the best / main area?
We would hope to go in June / July if possible
