Excellent article from the economist as to why Europe's ECMWF is currently superior to the US's GFS.

Europe has a better supercomputer, but the GFS might move ahead later on this year.

It also seems the Republicans plan on investing far more than the Democrats into weather forecasting.

I have always used the GFS over ECMWF for anything past 240hrs :pac:

It appears the GFS is even worse since its upgrade. ECMWF has been far superior this season for sure and the stats back it up.
