Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Technical questions about SPC panels

I have a few technical questions around the Vanderbilt SPC panels, hopefully someone can answer them:

    - What is the difference between the SPCW110 and SPCW120 wireless modules?
    - If I get the SPCW114 to put in the keypad, do I still need the SPCW110/SPCW120 in the panel?
    - What is the range for SPCW110/SPCW120/SPCW114?
    - How much network bandwidth does SPC connect use in average (MB per month)?
    - How often does the backup battery for the panel need to be replaced?
    - Will the SPCK521 keypad work with any Mifare Classic card or fob?

I leave it to the experts to answer specific questions, but you can find info online.. just a bit of elbow grease needed.
the various products have datasheets and documentation linked ..

    https://shop.vanderbiltindustries.com/uk-en/intrusion/systems/spc/
will tell you the difference between SPCW110 and SPCW120 . one is SiWay and one is 2way wifi. You can only pair SiWay card with SiWay components.. and same with 2Way. (there is no 2Way keypad module.)

(i saw comments on the forum that SiWay has supposedly been discontinued)

Range of wireless obviously depends somewhat on your house.

Thanks, I've seen that distinction that one does SiWay and the other 2 way, but I'm not quite sure what that actually means.

Are you saying the 2 way one is not backwards compatible with SiWay devices?
And yes I've seen the response to your thread saying SiWay was discontinued, but then why is the SPCW110 still in stock and being sold by most distributors (in fact most are NOT selling the SPCW120)?

    different protocols.
the 2way was only introduced with SPC 3.10.

    https://www.spcsupportinfo.com/SPCConnectPro/?page_id=7584

    mentions 500m range.
    no word on backward compat.

rest I can't answer for sure.. Just DIYer myself..

if not in stock with distributors, surely they can order in.
consider that when production of siway components stops and stock runs dry, you could be stuck in case you need replacement sensors.
