Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From childhood, a lot of soot falling down the chimney just before bed. Of course I thought Santa Clause was above, on the roof, biding time until I went to sleep.

    Yours?

My nana singing old Christmas songs in the kitchen, it was such a lovely moment

What was the best present you received?.

It will sound strange but, my bed. It was hand made for me and there's a carved message to me on inside of the mattress frame. There's another message at the back of a mirror made at the same time.
I have some found natural objects given to me that mean an awful lot to me too.

Are you happy by nature or would you choose a different word?

    Happy enough, I guess

Maybe a good one because I'm very good at reading people's faces. And now I have Kenny Rogers "The gambler" stuck in my ear.

What was your first ever pet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

A family pet sheepdog. He was beautiful.

Did you ever have to stand at a gap on a farm?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 80,774 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sephiroth_dude

    No

    What does that entail?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

It was a very boring “job” Seph! Our farm wouldn’t have had the best fencing when I was growing up and there were plenty of gaps in ditches (aforementioned sheepdog, while beautiful wasn’t living up to his name). Cue, a gaggle of us kids having to fill the gaps when animals were being moved from one field to another. I’d say I spent a Summer of my childhood standing in a gap.

Do you own a pair of wellingtons?

I'm up now. My oh gets up for work at half 6 so I usually make her breakfast while she's getting ready if I'm not at work myself.

    Have you been sick lately?

Would you consider yourself left wing or right wing wrt your political viewpoint?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,104 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

I would be right in some respects and left in others. For example - We need a caring society that looks after those who need a helping hand when they need a helping hand. But we don’t need a social welfare system that can be abused and offers a viable way of life to some.

When did you last wear fancy dress?

I've no chimney, but if I did I'd get someone else in to do it and make loads of Mary Poppins jokes.

What are you going to dress up as this halloween? A black plastic bag like myself?

Can be funny but can also be too coy and irritating.

RMAOK I own an old chest freezer which I've just started using for batch cooking.

Do you think home ec. would be a good subject for school curriculum?
