Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for the reply! In the same boat, has been 4 weeks as of tomorrow. I know times are strange but they still opened the competition, weird. I think public sector recruitment is known to take a bit longer in fairness

Got rejected today, apparently there was a large number of applications. Getting a job is going to be brutal it seems.

Sorry to hear, it really is tough right now. Did you hear just now?

Did anyone get their rechecks back today?

Yeah just got the email today, I’d love to know how I fall down on the application tbh, 6 fe1s passed, 2:1 law degree, 8 Months legal intern experience.

Hi there. I am sitting EU exam in August. Was just wondering if you would be so kind as to send me on the exam grid via DM? I would greatly appreciate it, as this is my first ever sitting of an FE1.

Yep, and my mark didn’t move. Not surprised but bit annoyed that I still haven’t been sent my script when I requested it on the 1st May - my paper could already have been marked by the external! Hope you were luckier, guess it’s a coin toss really

Do you get your recheck fee back if you pass?

Wouldn’t not study it to be honest. Seems to be a Q that he likes to ask.

Would anyone have a set of sample answers for Tort Law? I have past papers as far back as 2010 but practicing without anything to go off means I'm a bit unsure am I answering in the right way. Many thanks.

Second question, the applications open tomorrow for the Tort Law & EU Law exams in August correct? Does anyone know if it's all done on the law society website or are they still using paper applications? Is there a set time the applications open tomorrow like 9am for example?

Hey, if anyone has any up to date grids/materials for Tort or EU that they are willing to send on it would be greatly appreciated. Facing into FE1s for the first time is quite daunting to say the least. Thank you in advance!

I'd say they're putting it up at some point today, it'll probably be up before close of business

I spoke with the LS last week through email and they said they’d have the form up by Friday last. And got no response when I asked if it was going to be an online or paper application. But like you say it probably will be up by end of day

They have a note about it up on the website which says application is available shortly.

    Not working for me either

If there's one thing you can count on during these uncertain times it's how utterly broken the law society website is.

  • Registered Users Posts: 490 ✭✭Lallers96

Can't even log in properly. It says my name at the top when I do and then redirects me to a page after a few seconds saying login errors. Jesus christ.

Anyone else getting this when trying to sign in?

    Login access issues
If you see this page, please check the following:

Are you sure you logged in successfully? If you go back to the home page and see your name in the top right hand corner of the site, you are logged in.
Do you have the correct security access for this page? For example, the page may require solicitor login only or may be accessible by current members only?
You may be logged in already - to access the page you requested just click on the Law Society logo in the top lefthand corner to return to the home page and use the menu navigation or Search to find your page.
    Return to Law Society Home.

If you have any queries, please contact us.

Does anyone have up to date exam grids for

    - Company
    - Equity
    - Tort
    - EU

    Have up to Spring '18!

  • Registered Users Posts: 490 ✭✭Lallers96

Worked today for me. I think. It said 95% done after filling it all out and it said my application was under review, and I could check it under "my applications". Then I got that login error someone has described above. So hopefully that worked.

Can I ask when you did the application? I did mine at half 9 and haven't got one yet. Just concerned the site didn't accept it because it's barely functioning.

When I go into apply it says my application is at 95%, anyone getting the same thing?

Can anyone give me some advice on how I’d go about answering a Pelati question on the EU paper? Seen it come up a few times and want to get an answer done...

The application of national procedural rules to the enforcement of eu rights... the principle of equivalence. Question seems to come up quite a bit...

I doubt it makes any difference if it's BA, LLB etc I would just tick BA. I've sent them hard copy applications with stuff written in the margins cos there was no space on the form to clarify!

If you type 'Bachelor of Laws' then LLB will appear in the drop down menu.

When applying for the August exams, is anyone having the issue when they click save and next after Enrolment details you get brought back to the same place? It never lets you access personal details

I had this problem too, tried three different browsers but nothing, tried on my phone then and it worked no problem.

That was happening me a lot this morning, eventually after doing the same thing over and over again it would randomly work... same thing happened throughout the application process for me, especially when clicking upload button for documents. I tried three different browsers and the same was happening for each. Stick with it and eventually you'll get through the application, it took a while though for me
