    Quantum Alarm.
My alarm sim ran out of credit.
I put few quid into sim online last week.

I have been using phone to set / unset alarm since with no issues.

But today and the other day I got a GSM line fault audible message ...
I wonder why I’m getting this fault as the alarm is working by phone text to it ... so credit is not the issue.

Any advice would be appreciated , thanks paddy

Whats the signal on the GSM?

I’ll check. It’s in couple years with no issue .
Seems to have stopped since I went into engineer mode .. no issues flagged on service menu.

If the credit ran out and the alarm was set ( had it set to send test every fortnight) I take it that if there was no credit to allow test text it would flag a GSM FAULT? If that’s the case I think that may be the issue .... fingers crossed ... thanks

Line fault is when the signal drops on the network provider.
If the sim has no credit it wont send the text.
If you go into status on the GSM it will give you the signal level.

Just unrelated to this issue ... I notice on service menu , system shows no issues.
But had it on one day ... I nearly had to put my hand over the PIR before it went off ... I cleaned it and it’s still working but won’t activate until you nearly have your hand over it ... any test on rkp I can do to pin down the issue thks

That is the issue with the line fault.
Any way of moving the GSM?

If you put it in walk test and walk across the beam does it activate?
    Not towards it.

That’s the peculiar thing , when I looked at it firstly it said 40 percent then when I looked a minute later it’s at 20 ... it’s same network for last 2 years issue only arising now ... I’ll see about moving it . Half thinking up upgrading ... I’ll see what can replace it as economically as possible ... thanks
