    OK people,
UCD, Maynooth, DCU and UL gave their calendars for the year and i looked up the calendars for NUIG, DIT and Carlow IT.
GMIT still doesn't have a calendar for this year up yet. But their last years calendar fits fine with the below dates.

Free periods to host intervarsities are:

    29th Sept - 30th Nov
    16th Feb - 4th April
Also Easter is the 11th April

Intervarsities do be held on Saturdays so possible dates are:
    (Free Sat.) (Suggested IV)
    Oct: 4th
    Oct: 11th
    Oct: 18th
    Oct: 25th
    Nov: 1st (1st IV)
    Nov: 8th
    Nov: 15th (2nd IV)
    Nov: 22nd
    Nov: 29th (3rd IV)

    Feb: 21st (4th IV)
    Feb: 28th
    March: 6th (5th IV)
    March: 13th
    March: 20th (6th IV)
    March: 27th
    April: 3rd (7th IV)

Also, October is a bit too early, most of us only recruit beginner at the start of October.
So who is going to host competitions this year:
Maynooth, UCD, DCU, GMIT and UL: Will definitely.
DIT: won't, they don't really have the hall space.
NUIG and Carlow IT: Unknown (hint, hint).

I put suggested IV's beside some date, to space the competitions out as best as possible, presuming the NUIG and Carlow both want to host competitions.

So whats left to do is for colleges to start choosing, organising dates with their sports centers and announce them here, also are Carlow and NUIG going to host IV's and are there any problems with the dates?

Why is there so long break (almost 3 months) in the middle?

Some colleges have exams before christmas and some have exams after christmas, basically the free periods are the common times that people have lectures.

The 4th one is my birthday! :p

All looks good. The more the merrier.

Maybe DIT would like to go in with someone and hold a joint inter-varsity?

We'd be happy to have them-seperate teams of course. I just mean in terms of organisation etc.

    Hmm,
GMIT, NUIG, UL, Carlow ect should be all back to college by now,
so can the respective club captains start sending threating emails asking about intervarsity dates?

    Hi,
Maynooth intend, still to be confirmed, to hold its intervarsity on
    29th November.
UCD have theirs planned for 21st Febuary.
GMIT have announced theirs for 20th March.

It looks like the Maynooth Intervarsity will be the only one before
Christmas. The various college don't finish exams until mid-Feburary,
and study weeks for exams start early April, so the possible dates for
    other intervarsities are:

    Nov: 29th (Maynooth IV)
    Feb: 21st (UCD IV)
    Feb: 28th
    March: 6th
    March: 13th
    March: 20th (GMIT IV)
    March: 27th
    April: 3rd

So if you intent to host an intervarsity this season, ye better hop to it
and get it organised. Also it would be prefered if the competitions were
two weeks apart, so March 6th and April 3rd would be ideal, but do the best
    ye can.

Full details of the Maynooth Intervarsity will be sent out this week.

    *coughs* DCU February 21st. :D

DCU needs to contact UCD then, because i know UCD have booked their hall for the 21st Feb, so... sort it out amoung your selves.

Everyone else should take note, as soon as you start planning your intervarsity, post up here and email all the other colleges what date you are thinking about.

If it is then we wont be having it that weekend. That's why I'm trying to find out when the National Indoors are on!!!

Anyone gets a date post it here so we can sort things out.

Has anyone heard of any other Inter-Varsity dates?

    Limerick?

    DIT have confirmation for us?

    NUIG/Carlow hosting?

Congrats Maynooth on a great InterVarsity.

I think fun was had by all. Some fantastic scores by colleges. Great to see it. Very different look from last year too.

Indoor Nationals are confirmed as after the last InterVarsity (planned so far) GMIT's March 20th according to Paul Burke of GMIT.

    This means that:

DCU will now co-host it's InterVarsity with DIT on March 6th in DCU.
This will be followed by a FITA 18 in DCU which is being co-hosted with Dublin Archers.

More details on these in due course. :)
