Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

vent question

    Hi,
So I’ve been feeling a cold draught in the sitting room and went investigating. We only moved in a few months ago. 1991 built semi detached. Awful cold draught coming from the below image which appears to be an open
    Vent of some sort.

Is there anything that can be done to remove this or is it a necessity for some reason? There’s a room behind it so the draught must be coming up from the ground below. There’s a wooden (suspended I assume) floor below it as can be seen in second photo .forgot to mention the fire is a gas fire, which isn’t used. Thanks for any feedback

Might need someone in to investigate why it’s there in the first place. Maybe a Building Surveyor.
It may be permanent ventilation or it may be an air supply to the fire of some sort. Could be ventilation to the suspended timber floor also.
