Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Some food for thought.

    I wouldn't give them a cent.

Are you going to post something similar for every bargain?
    Sweatshops in India?
    Workers rights abuses in China?

It's slightly different than supporting such a cruel "sport" on your doorstep, for me anyway.

But what would happen to all the animals if the industry stopped in the morning?

And human violations mean less because they're further away?

Strange, but each to their own.

Nice deal but terms are minimum 4 people and no reserved seating. It’s actually a good night out.

It's a legal responsibility to look after your animals. Why should Greyhounds be any different.

I hope someone enjoys the deal anyway

That’s a fantastic idea - we are way too complacent about where goods come from. Maybe you could give him a dig out, too, from time to time. :)

Under Irish law, these lean and hungry creatures are not classified as dogs at all, but as farm animals.

Enough has been said about the Greyhound industry. This is bargain alerts, if you don't want to support the industry please ignore this thread.

Nope, enough hasn't been said. While animals suffer, you can never say too much. Ridiculous comment!

The animals have no choice in the matter. Also we don't have our government giving huge subsidies to sweatshops.

It's great to see that the RTE special has opened people's eyes. No one should support this cruel, useless, sorry excuse for a sport.

Unless you live under a rock it has been widely publicised how badly these dogs are treated.

How anyone is still supporting greyhound racing baffles me? It’s a kick in the teeth to all dog rescues who have to pick up the pieces every day.

Not wishing to backseat mod, and I'll take the infraction on the chin, but this is too big an issue to ignore and allow be swept under the rug.

I don't, hopefully this is our last year of greyhound racing in this country. Anyone still supporting this industry should be ashamed of themselves. I volunteer for a few dog charities and rescued greyhounds are often suffering from PTSD from the abuse they've suffered. All so people like OP can win a few quid and enjoy a few pints. It's sick.

I've just deleted a few of-topic posts above. While I understand the wish to notify others about what was revealed in the RTE documentary earlier this year, BA is not the place to get into a real discussion about it. You can join the discussions about greyhound welfare in one of the threads listed below to do that:

Current Affairs 'RTE Investigates programme on greyhound racing industry'
    or
Animal & Pet Issues 'Greyhound culling'

    Thanks.
