Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

starting to notice the dreaded thinning - and have started to look around to plan for the future. have never really been that bothered about receeding as said id never do the transplant but have recently start seeing the hair replacement systems stuff pop up on social media's and im tempted - it's basically a wig on top keep your own hair on sides n back... honestly looks better than most people's natural hair, but photo's can be deceiving i suppose,

anyone have any insight into them, or have it done? not that many places do it in ireland as far as i know, 2 only come up in google so it's not the best.

Yes , I wear a system, On my forth system now and have learned a lot. My first system was an oversized synthetic grey one which was bonded to my head not what I had ordered. I had a lot of problems with it and got my money back.

Second one I ordered from USA 300 dollars real hair and had it styled & fitted for 100 euro, It looked good on the day but did not match my real hair at the same time I had ordered a third one from the Dublin Hair clinic who specialise in hair systems and who would go on to charge me 1000 Euro to buy it.They wanted to charge me another 250 Euro to cut and style , I said not thanks and took the unit home, I found a salon who dyed my real hair to match the system had it styled , cut and bonded for 90 euro. I'm now on my forth & fifth having bought two for 600 Euro . I'm now happy I can afford to wear a system.

Beware of a firm in Dublin 9 who will gladly rip you off.

So these "systems" are, at the end of the day, just wig with a fancy name right?
Would it be noticeable to somebody who got close that it was a wig? Could it fall off if you hit your head or were playing sports for example?

Another option is biofibre hair implants. Basically synthetic hairs are implanted and knotted into your scalp. It can then be washed and styled as you would with normal natural hair.

I have had a transplant in the past that left my head scarred, I have also had synthetic implants which fell out after 6 weeks. , Yes a wig is a wig ... Now a hair system is real hair which covers the bald patch and is custom made to fit the bald area. Sleep in it and have your girlfriend run her fingers through it , swim in it . Now if you are going to have a fight with it on and your opponent wants to rip it off your head ... YES IT WILL COME OFF... and rip some skin off your scalp as it is glue bonded.
