Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anthony Foley, ROG and Stephen Keogh of Munster.

Brent Pope and George Hook met them in New Zealand and they were nice, both do a lot of charity work around Dublin.

Never met Twink but i'd say if i did she'd be a b1tch!

Really? I've met Robb backstage at festivals a few times and he's always been cool, this is MH Robb Flynn you're on about??

This was circa 94. Maybe he's mellowed a bit since?

Kian Egan is the worst most obnoxious scumbag imaginable. He once kicked a production assistant at UTV in the small of her back rather then ask her to be quiet while he was on the phone. She was encouraged to call security on the ugly horrible little bastard but was in to much shock to deal with it.
The rest of the band were also horrified. Mark Feehily seemed really decent.

Bono- obviously got a messiah complex but was quite thoughtful in accommodating me and my broken leg when I met him once.

Ray D'arcy- Really sound, seems a bit weak though, I think his Mrs bosses him around.
Grainne Seoige - Very nice friendly and down to earth.
Albert Reynolds- Gent! Nicest man ever.

Must defend Miriam O'Callaghan, from an earlier posting, both she and her husband are the nicest people in the Irish media

    Mary McAleese- Couldn't be nicer

Jamie MaGuire from Shameless- Absolute gent, great guy

I've met a few more but nobody stands out as an absolute wanker except that Sligo scumbag at the top.

I used to work in a restaurant in Sligo when I was a young student, and Westlife were at the height of their fame. There was a million stories going around about how Kian was an unbelievable wanker but I had yet to see it for myself....
So one day he comes in to the restaurant with a massive dude all in black which I presume is his bodyguard (just for going around Sligo like!).
They come up to the counter, I can barely see the top of Kian's head, he's such a short a*se, but I lean over anyway and ask him what he wants.
He looks at me, glares, and looks away, in a 'don't talk to me' manner. The bodyguard answers for him and tells me what Kian wants!! Kian says nothing the whole time he's there only glaring at anyone who might be looking at him.
    What a wanker!!!

    Hi all,
The few I've met and actually spoken to have been fine as long as you just do your job and not get all goo-eyed.I reckon the best thing to do is not be all starry-eyed in their presence and, in the quiet times, they'll hang loose and be good crack.
    regards

I trained Bobby Kerr from Dragon's Den at BodySmart a few weeks ago. Really lovely guy - no ego whatsover.

I've met Twink a few times and she's great fun. I can see how she pisses people off though - one of those people you either love or hate.

Met Eric Sardinas after he supported Steve Vai at Vicar Street. Fantastic guy - a true gent.

Ken Doherty is an absolute gent. One of the nicest people I've met in my life. He actually approached me in Jasons snooker club a few years ago and gave me pointers and then asked if I wanted a frame against him

    He whooped me though:D

I don't approach celebrities. If anything they should be approaching me.

That said, i've seen Gabriel Byrne, the actor, being an absolute gent to those that approached him on a train, signing stuff, chatting etc..

I've also seen Packie Bonner being a rude prick and Dara O'Brian sporting a very angry, don't approach me face.

Brian o' Driscoll- jumped up ****
Brian Ormand- absolutuly hate this man so rude and arrogant
Andrea Roche- I seen her hit a member of staff in a club
Louis Walsh- really nice man along with the rest of the weslife lads besides Kian Egan
Rosanna Daviason and her twat of a boyfriend Wesley Quirke he will do anything for a free drink and thinks he deserves one everywere he goes and she just insults people to there faces

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18 Sabbath Lily

A friend of mine had an encounter with Rosanna and her boyfriend - she had nothing bad to say about Rosanna, but the boyfriend was an arrogant, jumped-up little **** apparently. (Stealing Emm511's phrase, but damn it, it's a good one!)

I know some people can be a bit snotty about Gráinne Seoige, but she was utterly lovely to me in a scenario where she had absolutely no need to notice me.

I worked in a clothes shop in Dublin a few years ago, when a then prominent Fair City actress came into the dressing rooms, and was horribly dismissive of all the staff there. She just flung her clothes in my direction when she was finished, without a word or a look. This isn't that common, especially as the store attracts an older clientele. I was pretty disgusted. Karma must have struck though, because her character was written out and she hasn't been back since :D

Linda Martin (Eurovision) is not nice in any way, completely stuck up nasty piece of work.

To balance it out Mary Coughlan was absolutely lovely, so down to earth, I know she's not exactly a celeb, but still!

In fairness how many of us would like other people to make a decision on how nice we are on one few seconds chance meeting when we were not in our best form.

Leave the poor celebs alone. Sure there are only scared little humans like the rest of us.

ROG is a shy person though. Not his fault if he isn't the most people-friendly player ever

My pick is Jimmy Carr. But that is kind of his gimmick, the posh Englishman.

Jimmy Carr seemed pretty alright when i met him,Very sarcastic though.

so ahm how can i meet metallica lol

Up to the Justice album and tour, 1990, it was pretty easy to meet them, since the Black Album it's more or less impossible, they're taken to the gigs in a convoy and drive straight into there own area.

    Hi guys
    New to this, great thread!!

Used to work for a very well known fast food restaurant with a drive thru. Served Alan Hughes (your man of TV3 I think??) a good few times. Not a nice man at all...

Marty Whelan on the other hand used to come in with his children and he was terribly nice
