Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Paint removal from a block wall

    I have a boundary wall to the garden that has been painted years ago. It looks very poor and ideally I would like to get it rendered. Now I know render wont work with the paint but is there an option to remove the paint without the application of specialist chemicals. Its a large area and I just dont think it would be worth the hassle/cost/time to use a chemical removal agent.

    Would a proper petrol power washer do the job? something similar to this..

    Fix expanded metal to wall with ss nails with washers, ideally with a Hilti gun

    a karcher power washer with the dirt blaster lance, makes a weird noise like a wasp buzzing due to some spinning head or something but itll take anything off anything.

    Thanks, I had thought of this alright but seems over kill really i'd have to get someone in to do it and then someone else in to render it... It's only a boundary wall after all I would like to limit the costs.

    If it can be rendered over as suggested by Calahonda52 then that sounds like the way forward, failing that could try see what damage the power washer does to it first...!

    I used to own a petrol power washer. If I'd been minded to, I could probably have demolished a wall with it.
