Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Psychology graduates- what are you doing?

    Hi,
    I have just completed a psychology conversion masters in the UK. I have been working with children since I finished my undergrad (in a related field, but not psychology) and from my own research and career guidance in college etc I know that there are a lot of opportunities in the UK for assistant psychology posts, trainees etc, for people who don’t have a doctorate.
    Looking on Irish jobs sites I don’t see the same opportunities? I am currently volunteering, but am just wondering what psychology graduates here are doing to build experience? I was only in the Uk a year and would prefer to be in Ireland long term, but just wondering if there are graduate opportunities here that I’m missing?

    AP roles were probably thin on the ground here, historically. There was an announcement of some a while ago, but they were filled last June. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057758598

    If you're thinking about getting into a clinical course, etc, re CV - from college, the advice seemed to be to bulk out your experience with a variety of roles, including supervised stuff and work with range of clinical populations. I've not taken psychology further, so can't comment from personal experience...who knows what they're looking for, this was the gist of it. You'll find trainee profiles on Linkedin (if public) which will give you a sense of the jobs people have had.
