Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    EURO 4 12Z

Becoming quite blustery tomorrow across the country especially in coastal counties, will feel it all the more as coming from a not so usual steady SE'ly direction.

Feeling cold in the wind especially in onshore coastal counties.

The WRF-NMM , usually conservative enough showing fairly strong sustained SE'ly winds for Kerry tomorrow. People would want to be careful on mountains.

If this was happening in the midst of winter could we be talking about snow from these systems?

This crept in out here as I was sleeping and thus did not nail things down... Y'day was breezy but now.. stuff flying all over the path and garden.

was thinking as i watered the vast array of seedlings y'day afternoon that we needed rain, but seems we will again get excess.

South East is the most damaging here. Rarer than the other directions so less protection. I have just been outside rescuing boxes of trays of seedlings as they are in the worst of it. It would blow you over easily. west mayo offshore windtunnel

Similar wind charts to the previous runs for today. In general gusting 70 to 80 km/h overland with up to around 90 km/h near coasts and high ground I would think.

I've been preparing to raise my new 14ft x 25ft massively reinforced poly tunnel this week. Luckily I saw this coming, thanks to the Boards experts, so I have only completed the groundwork. Just gone outside to put the tools away and we have had a tree come down in that gust 30 mins ago, must be the direction. Anyway its currently just resting on the power lines, its really strange because its really not that bad out, just a gust from a rare direction.

I have a brand new chainsaw..:)

What is about people and their urge to cut down trees when it's very windy out??? Is it some sort of perverted pleasure gained by the risk of injury and/or death?

South East winds always a potent force in my Waterford City location. I would class today as the windiest day of the year so far. Regular gusts in the 60km/h range with a Max of 65km/h. Temp 9.1c but feeling a lot colder in the wind.

60 miles to your north, also exposed to the SE but only gusting to 48kmh
Theres a bite in it despite the beautiful day otherwise
It might take a while but theres a fair risk the rain will eventually reach Arklow, it should at least get into south wexford

Wind Gust predictions up until Monday 13.00 from EURO 4 .

An increase in wind speeds on the previous run but most of the strongest winds staying off the coast, a rough day nonetheless with the driving heavy rain especially in Southern counties.

Will be watching for your reports aisling86 ! looking rough down your way over the coming days, flooding must be a concern, land may be dry but that is a lot of rain to fall between here and Monday evening.

ECM just rolling out and somewhat in line with the EURO 4 although the Euro 4 looks wetter.

Present ECM runs showing it windy on Monday, possibly reaching yellow warning in parts of the S, SW and W.

Strongest winds off the coast atm but the ECM has increased speeds also since the previous run bringing the winds closer to the coast.

ICON showing very strong winds on Monday. On its own with these wind speeds atm. Bit of a spread even at this stage to how strong the winds are going to be. ECM would be a bit lower but a good guide at this stage.

EURO 4 12Z looks quite a bit windier on the latest run . Brings the LP closer to Ireland than the ECM but keeping the strongest winds off the coast or just on the coastal fringes. This would bring a lot more areas into the yellow wind warning.

The worst flooding I can remember was during storm Frank, this was the local park. Around 60mm fell but they also held the dam for too long which caused Macroom to flood.

See Wexford and Wicklow have been left out of the warnings. Wonder will that change... GFS has lots of rain for both.
