Very basic wall painting question

We just moved into our own house, having rented for years. For the most part there's very little to be done, however the previous owners had the kids room decorated with Winnie the Pooh stickers which, when removed, peeled little bits of the original paint from the wall.

The paint was applied as new by the previous owners (less than 4 years ago), and they've left some behind so we know the exact type and colour.

If we want to cover up the spots where paint has been peeled, I'm presuming we can't just paint over the spots as it could leave the wall with slightly different colours. Should we just paint the entire wall? Can we even apply paint on top of paint like that? Do we need to remove the original paint and repaint the whole thing?

Clearly DIY is not my forte!

Paint over the patches, if you can still see them after 24 hours then repaint the wall.

Before painting any wall, sand and prep it first.

Run some sandpaper over the marks and it will remove any residue that might be left.

Dont paint over the patches, you won't get them to match. Clean the entire wall. Where the little bits of old paint pulled, get a ready mix filler and push the filler into the "holes" with the applicator. Then swipe once across the face of the holes. When dry, give them a light sand and paint them with the new paint. Then give two coats to the entire wall. Sounds laborious but it will take an hour or so.
