Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Conspiracy theories - covid-19 threads

Why is Boards.ie giving Covid deniers and anti-vaxers a forum to openly share and disseminate dangerous misinformation?

With all that is going on with other social media platforms trying to flag and prevent misinformation, Boards is allowing this to be spread.
Allowing these threads in - even in a conspiracy theory forum - is not a wise move, IMO.

What is the rationale for not closing these threads outright?

Conspiracy theories shouldn't even be allowed to be discussed? You come across as very extreme and a bit unhinged.

Big difference between hosting discussion in a specific CT forum and allowing misinformation be spread/posted as fact.

Mods on the vaccines thread have been very good at keeping on top of it. It's a great tool and even when you get a few anti vaxxers in, they are usually dealt with very well by the posters. If they keep pushing it without proof they get thread banned

If its the conspiracy theory Forum you are talking about, well that's a different place entirely but the important piece is the name of the forum tbh

Boards.ie is the laughing stock of the internet, has been for years.i am always baffled and bemused when people start threads and feedbacks about why boards allows this and why they allow that.its a joke site, accept it for what it is

We act on reports. If stuff is clearly a CT posters will be directed to the Conspiracy Theories Forum. If posts where people are actively discouraging the take-up of vaccines are reported we will act

If you don't report though, we do not have resources to go looking for it on the busiest forum in the history of the site
