Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You are right.Parsnips are the modern equivalent of the apple tree in the garden of eden. They just spout evil. They are not neccessary. Parsnips should be murdered.

We have called the child Inara Lee

    Inara (after Firefly/Serenity)
Lee (after Lee Adama of Battlestar Galactia)

Born ten weeks early, she is currently incubated.

I find they give a lovely tangy whiff to your morning dump.

You can just about pick up the turnipy whiff for a few minutes, especially if you used good ground black pepper.

I would recommend them, just make sure they are not anyway spongy.

If they rationed them out to the enemy the war would have been over allot sooner.

Hate them they taste awful and there's no way to hide the taste they turn everything manky. Parsnips are ok roasted or with something else.

I still make the Halloween lantern out of turnips. The ugly, dirty things are great for that.

    Parsnips should be murdered.

There was one murdered there recently.

There was a big turnup at the funeral.

You only think you don't like Turnip and Parsnip. You just have never had it cooked in a delicious way. I like both but only when they're done right.

Buy your use of the phrase "the town" would you be a culchie yourself? Do you eat turnips?

Btw I think they're delish if cooked properly and not stringy

    Horrible things,

Do culchies go out of their way to get a McDonald's even though its not nutritionally valuable? :pac:

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,493 ✭✭✭Fulton Crown

The turnip in the opinion of this poster is the true culshie veggie.

It is usually round in shape has a slightly ruddy skin and until properly prepared is generally covered in dirt.

If rolled it takes a wavey circuitous route...rather like a typical culchie making his/her way home from the pub of a weekend.

Like the culshies the turnip is a poor conversationalist and given to greeting other turnips as "Turniphead" a term of affection.

Most turnips end up in Dublin as indeed do culchies.......

I'm not a culchie but I love turnip and parsnips. What's wrong with you people? I bet you lot like mushrooms though. They are truly manky...

    Freaks...:pac:

Just for clarification are we talking about turnips or swedes here? Turnips are the wee little white ones and swedes are the larger yellow type. I often beat the children repeatedly when they bring back swedes after I send them out to forrage for turnips.

No turnips of any colour or nationality were harmed during the making of this comment.
