New plan for people awaiting citizenship ceremonies

The Irish Times is reporting that at last the government have a Plan B for people who've been waiting for ceremonies or whose applications for citizenship are in the final stages. I am know there's been a lot of threads from people waiting over the past 12 months so this will come as good news.

People will now have to sign a statutory declaration and have it witnessed by someone from a specific list of approved witness occupations.

Its great news, if not 6 months too late. Shouldve done it from the start instead of the virtual ceremony they did.

I just hope once they send the email and you get the declaration signed then it doesnt take them months more to issue the certificate.

In 2 weeks it will be a year since I was approved and paid the €950 and sent everything else they asked for.

Just received my declaration form. Fill in, send back with some other bits and then takes up to 6 weeks for certificate to arrive in the post.
