Laptop suggestions

Hi

I’m looking for a new laptop. Typical usage will be for live streaming, basic video and photo editing, spreadsheets, zoom etc

We have a Samsung s10 phone so was considering this laptop for ease of integration (if that is worth worrying about)

Seems expensive but I don’t really know what specs and cost should be.

integration between the windows laptop and phone doesn't really offer much

this laptop on sale at 800 is a good deal. may not last long at that price

same weight as samsung but with better graphics capabaility due to mx350 card

Acer and Asus are really nice laptops. I had one and it lasted 10 years. I doubt the current Lonovo I have will last as long but maybe it will as it bearly gets used now. If I ever buy another one it will be one of them two makes I just mentioned.

All brands have good and bad laptops tbh - mainly to do with better quality the more up the range you go

you can't advise just on the basis of a brand name alone

Thanks for that. Looks good. The review is for an i7 but currys list it as i5 so not sure it’s exactly the same one

there is not a lot of difference between the i5 and i7 in that generation of mobile cpus -> less than 10% and only at the top end so not often used

they are both quad-core cpus

it's a very good price really for a solidly built metal chassis laptop with good screen and discrete graphics in a nice design and overall light package

for most users the new models with the m1 chip are the ones to go for.

most obvious benefit is increased battery life

Hi, sorry to jump in here. Just a quick query.

What are the differences between this HP Envy at Curry's (ba0558sa) and the one available at Harvey Norman (ba000na) selling for €300 more? I cannot seem to see much of a difference. If anything does the Curry's option look better? Apologies if I'm missing something!

curry's one is better (mx350 gpu included) and way cheaper

will sell out soon / go back to normal price.

if you want to buy the permanent edition and don't need the latest 365 features try ebay for a licence key

for 365 compare pcworld prices to ebay, amazon etc

LibreOffice is free if you dont fancy paying for Microsoft Office. The difference between the programs is negligible.
