Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Suddenly I turned around and she was standing there, with silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns, come in she said

There's a man goin' 'round takin' names

Going against the purpose of the thread but in light of recent events this song really hits a nerve. I've always loved it.

    At Seventeen

I learned the truth at Seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired

    The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth

And those of us with ravaged faces
    Lacking in the social graces
    Desperately remained at home
    Inventing lovers on the phone

Who called to say "Come dance with me"
    And murmured vague obscenities
    It isn't all it seems
    At seventeen

A brown eyed girl in hand-me-downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said, "Pity, please, the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve"

And the rich relationed hometown queen
    Marries into what she needs
    With a guarantee of company
    And haven…

    Janis Ian.

Sometimes I feel I’ve got to run away
    I’ve got to get away
From the pain you drive into the heart of me.

Its a long time since I saw you
Well you know how time can fly
It seems like yesterday we were lovers
Now we pass each other by.
