Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Seems the first inductees this year will be the original Hart Foundation, Bret, Neidhart & Jimmy Hart

It's a shame they couldn't have done this before now and neidhart could have gotten to give a speech. The issue of Owen hart mentioned in the link really is one of the saddest of its kind in wrestling and I doubt it will ever be resolved which is a shame as Owen hart deserves to be in the WWE HOF, but there are issues there and perfectly understandable reasons.

Giving Bret his second ring his ego will love that.

Could he get a 3rd one with the other Hart foundation as well at some stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

Each and every member of the 1997 Foundation deserves their place in the HOF. I'm not sure why Davy is getting kept out. Pillman will get there eventually.

It really is a travesty that Owen's widow continues to do her utmost to keep his legacy somewhat hidden.

I'd say she has no problem cashing the Royalty checks that arrive each month

In fairness, she did support Owen's induction into another hall of fame last year (Lou Thesz HOF?) And she even posed for picture with the hall of fame plaque.

Also, I'm sure being left a widow in your early thirties is not compensated by royalty checks. She has every right to still hold a grudge with WWE.

Its not just about the grudge she holds against WWE. It's all the fans that love Owen, still to this day, that she's depriving. Fans want to celebrate Owen's life as a wrestler, and this has not been allowed. They want to see him receive the recognition he deserves by being inducted into the HOF.

Sure, he may have been inducted to the Lou Thesz HOF, but the industry wide standard is the WWE HOF, for better or worse.

Let's be real, though, the WWE Hall of Fame is a work. It has as much meaning as the Slammys.

The whole night of the Hall of Fame ceremony is just one big wrestling show. The fans who attend it are fooled into thinking they're at some kind of Oscars gig. You even see some of the fans wearing suits in the crowd. But yet the crowd still behaves like a wrestling audience. Why would Martha Hart want anything to do with that rubbish?

Health problems over the last few years, I believe Jim had Alztimers ....I don't like the 2 time HOF's thing, like Arn Anderson and the rest of the 4 Horsemen could've got in on their own merits instead of being lumped into 1 induction with Flair and Flair being "2 Time" Hof'er ….they should do tag teams if they had unremarkable singles runs like Dudleyz/Rock and Roll Express and separate if they were big on their own Edge and Christian (will be one) for example

Danny Davis wasn't an original member but was a member kind of. I don't know if he was ever considered a permanent member.

Leaked video here. I see Xpac in it too.

I think Waltman would be deserving of the HOF actually. He had quite the career.

I guess they didn’t want to give Rude a second ring.

Was Rick ever anything but DX's "Insurance Policy" though?

Rude was a member for me when I think about DX.

Kane, Tori & Hornswoggle were also members ;)

For me when i think of DX i think of the names announced there.

would have liked trips to go in on his own first before DX announced.

suprised billy going in considering his AEW ties cause you all know what there like

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,339 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Ah at least we have one announcement. I was getting worried it wouldn't be a big deal this year.

Ya, William Gunn was a surprise to me too. He's had a savage career in WWE however, so its deserved.

    So who will induct DX?

Nash and Hall the Kliq members of the NWO which DX was set up to compete with.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 502 ✭✭✭sirmanga

Seems weird that Triple H will be going in as DX before he's going in on his own.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,886 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    Steph was also a member.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 502 ✭✭✭sirmanga

    What about Big Dick Johnson?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

Austin maybe feuded with both version of it unless its big kev

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 502 ✭✭✭sirmanga

It's good that WWE have named which DX members are going in. Otherwise it would be open to interpretation. At least it won't be like when they inducted "The Von Erichs" in 2009. Thereby making Chris Von Erich, who barely wrestled a match in his life and was dead by 21, a WWE Hall of Famer.

I think Tyson will induct them

Funny how Triple H kept waffling on about not wanting youngsters to Google Chyna and see that she was a porn star, and that was his reason to not induct her into the Hall of Fame.

Yet he personally inducted Mike Tyson into the Hall of Fame. Mike Tyson. A convicted rapist.

Well the Hart Foundation haven't been inducted!

D-Generation X are the first inductees in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019

Never got this one, Honky Tonk over Lawler for me. One of the longest reigning I.C. champs, sold mid carder, and slightly less obnoxious. Worthy of the spot in the hall of fame. Everybody is going in at some point it seems, at least he's still alive when going in too.
It really is a joke anyway. Vader not going in while alive will always annoy me, he practically begged them to let him do it.

They'll probably induct him at some stage when expedient to do so, but it'll be bittersweet, with an emphasis on the bitter. One of Vader's family should ask Vince why Vader wasn't inducted while alive, only to have Vince stutter out a weak answer. The real reason, I think, is that WWE didn't want to have another guy get inducted only to keel over dead the next day, like Ultimate Warrior did.

Btw no way is the honky tonk man better than jerry lawyer. Let's not go completely nuts lads.

But anyway on the Vader non induction, if they felt him okay to induct someone a few years before he died then he was clearly in the good books of WWE so what stopped them ? I mean the dynamite kid I can understand and a few others who you wouldn't trust your cat with nevermind a live mic on live tv.

Ah yeah, majority no doubt would say Lawler was better, me preferring Honky Tonk Man is just my personal opinion.

I remember Vader putting it out there himself saying he deserved/would love to be in the hall of fame. And as you said he inducted someone else, just seemed like bad form not putting him in especially when he was pushing for it.

It's a bit of joke of a hall of fame, still I'd imagine it means a lot to the older guys to get the recognition.

Yes, that was the idea alright. When he turned heel (he debuted that character as as a face!), he took on Jimmy Hart as manager, rebranding him Colonel Jimmy Hart, a play on Elvis's manager, Colonel Tom Parker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,041 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

He also pretended to be unaware of Elvis, and a completely original act.

The crowd hated him, and desperately wanted him to lose, which meant he did a great job.

I had heard they was heat there(I don't know what happened) but I think he'll be a good speech on the night as he's not a bad talker. if jimmy hart wasn't going in this year it'd have to be him, but jimmy is so yeah maybe it is lawler. I doubt lawyer will bring up the silver finger nail promo though.
