Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Insulating small attic above bay window..
Is this an easy enough job go get done and not too costly? Presuming the plaster board would need to be pulled off. Would replacing the plaster ceiling be messy?

Is mineral wool the right things to pack in here (how to retain it if packing from below)? Or even fill it with spray foam??

Is the roof of the bay a slate or tile roof?

It would be concrete tiles, like a small/mini pitched roof. Tiles are flat like slates if that matters

Probably easiest to remove a few of the concrete tiles, cut the felt and blow in insulation from the outside, repair and re-seal the felt and reposition the concrete tiles again.

Sounds like a good plan, thanks!

I'm assuming the space is already vented at the soffit as usual, also I'm not suggesting to fill the space with insulation.

you will have to ensure the blow in insulation does not cover the vents and / or prevent cross ventilation.

Sometimes the bay ceiling is higher than the main ceiling in the room. In that case you could screw some insulated plasterboard onto the current ceiling (through the existing plasterboard and into the bay joisting.

Skim to finish. A days work without too much mess for someone, roundabouts?
