Open Water Suits

Hi,

does anyone know of any good websites for open water racing suits? I've trawled the net but can only find the sleeveless ones from arena or speedo.

The need is mostly to do with the jellyfish.

Btw don't go googling "Lycra bodysuit swimwear" I'm fairly sure the Leinster open sea committee would have issues with that stuff !

noticed a good few of these this year while doing the Leinster swims .... strictly speaking wouldn't the zip make them illegal under FINA rules?

I don't think they are officially FINA rules races.

Their website only has rules for wetsuits.

They are fine , they don't give you any buoyancy . In fact I think they slow you down a bit as the material weights you down more once wet, but as long as it helps from getting stung who cares.

Did you ever get that suit and if so how do you find it?

got a nasty sting last week out in seapoint on both arms.....

I actually got 3 yesterday from Leisurepro in NY. Got them delivered to my brother in law in Texas as he was coming home this week.

Select large to get all black. They worked out at 28 euro including delivery but within US.

I know aliexpress sell them also but they will come from China

Thanks. They look great. What do they feel like compared to a wetsuit and skins and are they race legal?

Do many wear them in the leinster open sea league....dont think I've ever seen one in seapoint

I'm pretty sure that for LOS races wetsuits aren't permitted. Or if you do wear one you are not considered part of the actual races.

They are perfectly legal as they are not neoprene. They are Lycra suits and feel tight on but arms are free for swimming, you have to Vaseline your neck a good bit as depending on switch side you breath the collar can cut into your neck

But having said that this years Liffey we are going old school, no suits allowed all men are to wear budgie smugglers

I think if you are new customer you get $10 off....Some of the other swimmers say these are also good.

Ah, didn't read properly enough. Didn't realise they weren't wetsuits. Never heard of the before, interesting.
