Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Decibel level

    Not sure if the correct forum.

    To the common ear — is there much difference between 90db and 97db

    Looking at buying a pressure washer and these are the decibel ratings. Or another way, would a neighbour even notice the difference between these 2 levels?

    I've no idea, but if you Google how loud 90db is you get all sorts of results:
    Lawnmowers
    Power tools
    Blenders
    Hair dryers

    Thanks. How does the scale go up from 90 to 97, just a linear fashion is it?

    No, it's logarithmic

    Ah right, so the difference between 90 and 97db is relatively substantial
