Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bargain alerts in Waterford City

Saw one of these threads in the Sligo forum and thought it might work well here too. If anyone comes across any bargain across the City, whether its from groceries to electrical items to clothing, feel free to post them here. Only thing is that it must be in a store in the city and not online.

*Please also include the end date of the offer if applicable.

Please only include offers that are local to Waterford City - if it's country wide it belongs in the Bargain Alerts Forum.

Any form of blatant advertising will be removed by the mods.

    *stolen from the Sligo post;)

For the alcoholics among us, Madigans off-license have bottles of Fosters for €1.

The 3-year interest free option in Harvey Norman's is quite good. Managed to get myself a €500 digital camera for €15 a month over the weekend. If I just cut out one takeaway a month it'll pay for itself :-)

If its the camera that was advertised its cheaper from other places online.

Not that it is relevant, but its cheaper in Spain also.

Canon EOS 1000D - €499. It can be gotten cheaper online I'm sure, but the point of my post was that €15 a month is a bargain...and I'd rather pay that than splash out in one payment.

Not a buy bargain as such but a bargain all the same. The shoe Shop Shoe La La in the Ballinakill centre have a competition running 'drop in or send a postcard with where the store is located' and the prize is shoes (love shoes!!!) and a pamper treatment from Aura Beauty - think the end date is valentines day!

I must say, fair play to Supervalue, they are really coming up with the offers to try and get us through these recessionary times.

Well, they are the most expensive in general :p

I think though, while they are all doing half/discounted meat - this beats the all hands down. Really helpful to the struggling families.

La Taverna has a great deal going,

All you can eat polenta dishes on Mondays (all day), and all you can eat pizza on Tuesdays (all day). You get a glass of wine and a cup of coffee (maybe even dessert? I forget now) for 15 euro! They couldn't be a friendlier crowd in there either, they deserve the business.
