    Hi everyone
We want to install a stove into a sitting room that measures 5x5 m .should be a 6kw stove I think..non boiler as we have one else where. There is an existing open fireplace.
What are peoples opinions on insert versus free standing?
Which is cheaper to install etc. I think our chimney would need to be kangoed out for a free standing as our hearth wouldn't conform to regs.
Would love to hear peoples opinions
    Thanks

A free standing will be warmer than an insert.
what is wrong with the hearth? It may be cheaper to fix the hearth than to kango out the fireplace.
