Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Your son purchased it. Maybe he signed up for the free trial and unless its cancelled it automatically bills.

It is a recurring monthly subscription to their game library service. Basically you pay €10 a month and have access to all the PS games in their library to play at your leisure without paying for them. It requires a pretty solid internet connection and some games allow you to download them to the PS for easier play. It's quite likely he applied for the free trial and didn't realise it needs to be cancelled. Either way, if nobody else uses the console, he most certainly applied for it.

Did he sign up for a trial a month ago?

No, no €9.99 a month ago or before..

Can it be bought accidentially when clicking on a game or does PS Pluis need to be bought and would you be brought to the store with a payment pending?

The PS Now free trial is only 7 days so check if you have any emails from a week ago - the trial expiring and using a registered card to renew the sub at the full €9.99 is the most likely scenario here.

No way it can be bought accidentally - if you try and sign up you need to click through a couple of screens in which it tells you that the charge will be taken once the trial expires. It's not something that can be clicked or signed up to accidentally.

Id imagine someone has to punch in card numbers as most services require card, unless OP gave that permission, more or less likely kid signed up 10nner isnt a lot for few months propably checking your bank acc on statements would give good idea when first pay was made, youd wanna make sure your card is disconnected from account for future use thou

I have my credit card card on my account... He can buy any time but generally asks before doing so. I just want to see if it was definately bought through an obvious payment window. He is 12 so no excuse if the system is taliered to let the user know a payment is necessary...

My son's PlayStation account requires double authentication, and I get a code to my phone before any purchases are allowed.

Does your account not have that?

I wonder why todays trasnaction is not appearing in screen above but email today is as follows:

Have a look through the €0.00 ones there - that's what the trials normally appear under.

Again - Todays PS Now transaction is not appearing on my transaction screen...?

Hmmm that is bizzare. Is it possible he had the trial already at some point? It would be an instant €9.99 charge if you signed up again once the trial was finished. You might need to to contact PS Support to query this properly.

On the playstation, go into settings, account management, account information, playstation subscriptions. Click on PSNow. Should have a start and end date. Also option there to turn off auto renew.

    Does seem odd.

So email received to confirm order and price.

    Nothing under most recent transactions.
    Not showing in active subscriptions.

Not sure if you said, but have you checked your bank account if the money was taken?

    Check your son's subscriptions.

Also, turn off auto renew for your PS+ subscription, can be gotten for €47ish online via press-start and others.

I always buy with a discounted key, just use the auto renewal notice to know when its about to lapse. Thanks.

Mine is the primary account with payment and PS+ - I assume the subscription would appear on my acocunt only?

If your son has an account, have you reviewed that?

PSPlus/PSNow is tied to the account, not the device.

Anything dodgy with the email you received?

It was actually sent to his personal email - not mine... Must check his account as recommended above!

Just to put the lid on this! - Got this from Playstation... Looks like he signed up alright some time ago on his PS4 profile...

    Hi Conor,

Thanks for getting in touch with PlayStation Support. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I have looked in to your account and can see that this purchase was a recurring subscription for PlayStation Now. You can check these via the console or by checking your confirmation emails sent to your sign-in ID (email address associated with your account). Whenever you make a purchase an email is sent to your sign-in ID.

To check via your console please: Select your local user account and press up on the control pad to access the Function menu and go to Settings > PlayStation Network > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History.

When you bought PlayStation Now (or started your trial), the product description clearly explained that you were buying an ongoing subscription for which you would be billed automatically at the frequency you had chosen.

Our cancellation policy provides a 14 day “cooling-off period” on the initial purchase from the start of your subscription, which allows you to evaluate the service and to cancel and obtain a refund within this period. However, the cooling off period does not apply to subsequent recurring payments. After the first 14 days, you can cancel your subscription at any time so that your subscription will expire at the end of the then current month, which will stop future payments, but you will not receive a refund for payments already made.

Nonetheless, I can see that your next membership payment has only just been taken, so I’ve cancelled it and refunded the charge back to your Payment Method as a gesture of goodwill. Please allow up to 5 working days for this to show on your debit/credit card statement depending on who you bank with.

Don’t forget that you can manage your account for PlayStation Network, including periodic billing, by clicking on the Account Management link at the bottom of this email.

I hope this helps, if you have any further queries please let us know!

    Thanks,
