Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

So I sent my daughters first passport application off in feb. I wasn’t aware that it takes longer because we now live in Northern Ireland. It’s only just saying processing when I track it and says estimated issue date 17th April her school trip to Paris is on 9th April. We have been living in Northern Ireland for a year would she qualify for a British passport

Hi Lisa, here's what the status of our son's renewal currently looks for what it's worth.

The issue date hasn't changed since applying and the progress bar has moved across steadily.

Yes, in Dublin. So basically an entire month. 19th April is cutting it fine without chasing this down.

We were given estimated 20 working days so I would say it more or less arrived on time.

It's noted in this thread (as per many posts here), and also in my own experience, that the minor's passport take around 1 to 1.5 months for the renewal.

    Hi,
I'm a UK born citizen with Irish parents applying for Irish passport.
Both my parents, although living in UK hold Irish citizenship/passports

In Section 3 part C which would i choose?
    Naturalisation
    Foreign Birth Registration
Post Nuptial -- WONT BE THIS ONE
Born abroad and adopted under Irish Law by an Irish citizen
    OR LEAVE BLANK?

I'm going to leave Your PPSN blank.
Also on my Country - United Kingodon?, Great Britain or England?

Also in section 8 - I assume i can just sign this under the assumption that i am Irish Citizen? (although not just yet)
    Thanks

You are already an Irish citizen.

Leave section 3 C completely blank as none of that applies.

Stick in United Kingdom for country.

    thats not always the case

if one of the OPs parents was born in Ireland, then yep, they are automatically irish citizens.

if you have no parent born in ireland but rather a foreign born parent with irish citizenship through decent, then you'd need to be entered on the foreign births register first.

Our daughters first passport application was logged by the passport office on 21st Feb. it had a due date of 18th March. It printed yesterday the 21st and was dispatched today the 22nd so was a few days later than the expected date.

Both my parents where born in Ireland and hold Irish passports (just live in the UK)
    I'll leave C blank then
Hopefully they wont mind a slightly damaged birth certificate with sellotape

In terms of documents i have
Water Bill (original) with my full name and address
Council tax Bill (original) with my full name and address

Photo Id - Do i need to send my original British passport? to the embassy/consulate or is this just for the witness? if i do send it can it be a certified copy

and on Witnesses - any suggestions as to who to use, so far two local banks have refused, doctor wont do them anymore? Can it be a professional qualification person not listed on their witness list

    Thanks

i applied for my sons passport a few weeks back and received a letter back during the week stating that they need his long form birth cert. i looked around online and found a hse link to order all of our birth certs online, although does anyone know if this gives the long form of the birth certs that we are looking for? and not the invalid one we already have

    http://lifeevents.hse.ie/

    cheers

As long as it costs 20euro then it's the long form certificate. When you order by e-mail rather than the online form it makes this clear:

Hi, so I applied for passports for both my sons last month, I applied as a family application and sent my passport off with their applications and birthcerts. Today one of my sons arrived back and my other sons and mine didn’t, his says the passport is “printing” has said this since this morning.
Should family applications not all come back together? We’re fkying on Tuesday and I’m starting to freak out! Help please!

Not flying until 5.20pm so I do have Tuesdays post as well as today’s and Mondays. Do you know if that’s normal for a family application to come back separately though? Did yours come up as dispatched on the 22nd from early in the day? Mine is still saying printing now.

I don't know about the splitting of a family application.
On the Friday of dispatch the first time I checked was at 14:45 and it was already dispatched.
I think you'll be fine given that you've got Tuesday's post also.
