Secondhand Kayak

Hey all

Have just started paddling and done level 2 but have no boat.
On the lookout for secondhand boat that can do both river and sea kayaking in.

Am based in Cork

Have a sit-on Ocean Kayak to trade / sell.

On a budget (recession and all that!!!)

I know the guys from Kayak hut have a selection of used kayaks

Try the local shops and you can try our club (www.phoenixkayakclub.com). The site forum has a buy and sell. You won't shift your sit on top but you might find something decent secondhand.

If you post what part of Cork your in I will direct you to the nearest shop.

Cheers Zuppylurk, know a few lads in the club alrite and gonna start paddling with club in April.

Heard that shopin Youghal takes sit-on as trade in so mite go down there for a look.

I have never dealt with the shop in youghal or seen its website so can't help you there. As for Phoenix, your friends will probably tell you that the club river trips are running and members can use the club gear for these trips (I think the price for rental is a tenner - it was last year)

try www.irishfreestyle.com, their message board has a buy and sell forum. You can put up an ad saying you are looking for a kayak of X price and X spec as well as find a potential second hand.
Also goto the Irish canoe union website, www.canoe.ie, there you will see a list of Irish kayak club websites you can visit, a good few of them have Buy and sell forums.
