Still one more season of the year to go with two of the most anticipated shows of the year starting, Ascendance of a Bookwork and Infinite Dendrobium. Can't be worse than the Arifureta adaptation or Index S3.

Arifureta has an extremely bad adaptation, everything is very shoddy and half assed. Only ln I can think of that got a worse anime is Master of Ragnorok which somehow squeezed 9 pretty long volumes into a 13 episode series.

Oh that does look pretty. It would want to be fair good to knock Demon Slayer though. I have Demon Slayer at the top of best looking Animes.

Looks wise it doesn't compare but the storyline more than makes up for it.apparently studio wit are delaying season 4 of AOT to focus on Vinland

No, they are delaying season 4 of AoT until the manga is finished. The manga will probably be finished within the next 8 chapters at most.

Movie next covering the Infinite Train arc. The arc has concluded in the English release, still a 70 chapter gap after it in the official release though.

There's a 70 chapter gap between the conclusion and train arc?

Yeah really looking forward to the movie, the anime is visually amazing can't wait to see it in the big screen edition

No, there is a 70 chapter gap between the end of the train arc, where the tankubons currently are, and the start of the simulpub in the official English release of the manga.

The train arc lasts for about 17 chapters.

In case anyone else is interested, Crunchyroll have the Legend of the Galactic Heroes movies that are coming out over the rest of the year split into episode sized chunks this season. The first one is out already.

Finished up Akame ga Kill last night. Great little short series, full of action and twists. A bit more violent than the rest, but not ott (if cutting people in half in 1 go is not ott, it's not Goblin Slayer gory). I recommend it.

Now to find something else to watch, Sword Art Online is not holding my interest. Any further recommendations? Mostly into Shounen, mainly fantasy/magic rather than guns, etc. So far have watched:

    HxH
    One Piece
    Kimetsu no Yaiba
    Black Clover
    Naruto
    Baki
That other fighter one on Netflix
    Fairy Tail
    TTIGRAAS
    Assassination Classroom
    AoT
    My Hero Academia
The Rising of the Shield Hero
    Goblin Slayer
    Akame ga Kill
    Mob Psycho 100
    Blue Exorcist
    Twin Star Exorcists
    Dr. Stone
Is It Wrong To Try And Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon
    Berserk
    GATE
    Hundred
    Seven Deadly Sins
Some more on Netflix, can't remember right now.

(And all within the last year or so!).

    No Guns(ish) fantasy:

    • That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Isekai and he's a slime.
    • Re: Zero. Iseakai and mild
he dies and it resets like reloading a game save
    • Konosuba. Iseaki and the rest of the party is very disfunctional.
    Modern No Guns
    • Fate Stay/Night: Unlimited Blade Works. Summon ancient heroes and use them as pokemon in a battle for the holy grail. It's better than it sounds.

Modernish and Oh So Many Guns:

    • Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka. Magical girls, like Sailor Moon, recruited into special forces (this one is pretty grim at times).
    • Saga of Tanya the Evil. Isekai and he's a 12 year old blonde girl who joins the Imperial German army in the 1920s plus there's magic.

    Thing I Recommend to Everyone
    • A Place Further than the Universe. Highschool girls go to Antarctica because anime.
    • Shiro Bako. Anime about making anime

Everything is on Crunchyroll except Fate, that's on Netflix

Yes first 64 episodes were amazing, the bounts arc was weak but this current arc with the Espada, I'm finding it more interesting than the bounts, so will stick with it.

It had such a good start, then just drags. The manga is the same it gets dragged out worse than Dragon Ball, not surprised it eventually got cancelled.

I did notice it dragged a bit towards the end, but I still found it enjoyable. His powering up kept me going!

Started watching Ushio and Tora, about 19 episodes in, and it's a grand little show. Nothing new or spectacular. Reminds me of Naruto and his relationship with the 9 Tails, including the similarity between 9 Tails and Tora, but seeing as this was out before Naruto I think someone did a bit of robbing [story spoiler for Ushio and Tora]
especially considering the overall baddie in this also happens to have 9 tails...)

It will keep me going for a while anyway, at least until My Hero is back this week (October 12th).

DanMachi, Isekai Cheat Magician, One Punch Man, Hataage! Kemono Michi (if you don't mind furries), Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutstu (though I prefer less fan service and a more dark version in the highly recommend Overlord's three seasons), Shinchou Yuusha (the most cowardly hero ever!), Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (basically someone get's called to a fantasy world and gets setup as a fall guy) and of course no recommended list is complete without Shokugegi no Soma; the series that should not work but simply do!

Agree with most of those except for kemono michi that show is just weird... More creepy than anything especially that scene with the cerberus lol

On a side note Looking forward to watching the new my hero academia later!

So, Ushio and Tora was quite good. Nice and short, good ending.

And in my want to find something else to watch, I've ended up starting HxH again. Only a few episodes in, but I remember why this is so good. Amazing work. Pity about Yoshihiro's health, hope he can get better and finish the story, but I did just read that he has passed on the intention to his wife in case he dies.

Have you watched the anime of his previous manga, Yu Yu Hakusho. There is a new ova episode of it out this year.

That would be pretty weird if his wife ended up finishing it considering she is the creator of Sailor Moon.

I was going to have a look at that after watching HxH (which I found out while Googleing last night is pronounced Hunter Hunter!). Yeah, would be weird but at least there's a back up just in case. Fair play to him for thinking that far ahead, and she also helped him (before she became his wife) with some colouring of the manga, so she has some experience with it already.

So just realised (via reddit) that The Seven Deadly Sins has started airing again, but it's a different company and there's some censorship going on. Anyone seen the new episodes yet, can they confirm/deny this (white blood, etc)? Be a shame if it's changed.

Censorship for the broadcast version is not unusual, worst I've seen was Terraformars where over half the screen was regularly blacked out.

    That was Gundam Wing.

It's a pretty unpopular opinion but I like SEED and even SEED Destiny (sequel series).

SEED is fine, SEED Destiny starts off fine before quickly devolving into a trainwreck. This happened due to a rewrite to give Kira and Athrun bigger parts as Shinn is an unlikable prick.

You're not wrong. Out of curiousity did you watch Destiny subbed or dubbed? I watched the dub first and found Shin much less annoying in the sub.

Apparently there's a movie on the way and somehow Kira ranked in the 30 most popular male anime characters of the 2010s despite only being in a remaster.

I don't watch dubs for the most part, I'm not against dubs as it allows more people to enjoy it. There are also some dubs that work better than the original like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell and Big O(apart from mispronouncing megadeus as megadeuce).

Started Stein's Gate yesterday, three episodes in and I like it a lot so far

Finished FMAB earlier in the week, amazing end to a great series. Probably just behind HxH as my favourite anime.

Bought HxH Volume 1 earlier this week - I still think it's shame the second anime didn't show the scene with Ging and Kite in the opening episodes, it would have improved the Chimera Ant arc imo

Unicorn is great, near the end of the main UC stuff though. You'll have wanted to have seen Chars Counter Attack beforehand.

    UC chronologically is

    UC 0068-0079
    The Origin

    UC 0079
Gundam, 08th MS Team, Igloo, Thunderbolt

    UC 0080
    War in the Pocket

    UC 0083
    Stardust Memories

    UC 0087
    Zeta Gundam

    UC 0088
    Gundam ZZ(Double Zeta)

    UC 0093
    Chars Counter Attack

    UC 0096
    Gundam UC(Unicorn), Gundam: Twilight Axis

    UC 0097
    Gundam NT(Narrative)

    UC 0105
    Hathaway's Flash(not released yet)

    UC 0123
    Gundam F91

    UC 0153
    Victory Gundam

All the standard edition Gundam blurays are on sale today from http://www.alltheanime.com until 4pm tomorrow. Prices between £9.99 and £29.99 with free shipping.

There are a few Gundam series available on youtube for free legal streaming on the GundamInfo channel and pretty much all of the non UC stuff is on Crunchyroll.

To to add if it's not clear or you didn't know.

Most Gundam shows are either UC (universal century) or their own stand alone show like Final fantasy with recurring themes but mostly not connected.

There's always a Gundam and always some lad in a mask, what makes a gundam a gundam changes. Still no clue for UC, if it looks like a gundam it's a gundam.

I'd start off on the standalone stuff, before jumping into the decades of UC story-lines.

Most of them have a slightly different history for their earth, different countries and geography too. Gundam 00 is the one set in our own future, turns out the way to stop fighting in northern ireland is gaint robots.

Both series are Alternative Universe titles, very few have sequels and none are related to each other.
