Bought a freestanding bath tap and father-in-law is installing for me.

He reckons the copper pipe they supplied is very short and going to be difficult to work as per their drawings.
Pipe supplied is 12mm with 12/15mm adapters.
They only supplied 200mm of the pipe, so will have to be cut into 2 x 100mm.

    See page 4, diagram A3.

Going by that - 50mm to bring up from ground and allow another 30/40mm above tile...that leaves 10/20mm for bend and connector.

Anyone know where we could get 12mm copper around Meath/Kildare border or even Dublin?

What’s the normal way to connect onto the 15mm, solder or compression fitting?

I’d probably solder onto it if there’s no space, or use a 1/2 compression fitting with the olive changed to 15mm..

A better approach might be to get some 15mm pipe and elbows.
Solder on your 12mm>>12to15mm adapter>>15mm pipe (all vertical). 15mm Elbows at the bottom
Then 15mm pipe coming out from the elbows for a bit and attach a 15mm to 1/2" adapter(or 16mm alupex), then out to your normal plumbing.

You'll need to mount the support for your pipework a little further down, but there should be plenty of room in the floor.

Now, you should have problems getting 15mm pipe and fittings locally too, but it shouldn't be nearly as bad. Worst case scenario take a trip north of the border or order online.
