Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    See the poll...

    Yes, in one word.

But how is it defined being a motorist? Is driving once per week / per month enough to be a motorist?

I have a CSO in my driveway. Guess that makes me a motorist so.

When I'm on my bike I think of myself as a cyclist and when I'm driving a car I think of myself as a cyclist in a car.

    I'm just a cyclist/occasional jogger.

Cyclist for the moment but passed the Driver Theory Test last week so I aim on being both shortly.

Drive when I have to, cycle because I want to.

Haven't sat behind a wheel in almost 7 months now, it's like riding a bike, no?

I drive under 500km per year (which is much less than I cycle; probably less than I walk too) and I don't own a car, but I assume I'm a motorist for the purposes of this poll.

I could still drive 300 miles in a week. I hate to say it, but I spend more time in a car seat then the saddle of a bike.

I don't own a car now and I haven't since I came to Ireland so that makes me a cyclist only.

when I move to the US in September I'll have to start driving again probably which makes me sad.

Once you start driving you will put on weight and become lazier with the bike.

I am an arrogant motorist who berates cyclists two days a week...

...and a self-righteous cyclist who (internally) berates motorists three days a week..

Bike is for commuting, car is for everything else. I don't have the discipline to take the bike out to do a 20 minute journey when the car is right there. Mileage works out about 50/50 - 5000km/year on each.

Cyclist and motorist. Enjoy both! Couldn't live without the car, wouldn't like to live without the bike!

When I drive like I cycle, I crash.

Although when I cycle like I cycle, I crash too.

Basically just stay the hell away from me whatever I'm in/on.

You should have told me that before I got into a car with you.

And all the other stuff too.

Driver and cyclist here. Despite being obsessed with cars from an early age, increasingly when I am driving and and see a cyclist, I feel envious and wish I was on the bike too.

The complete opposite happened to me, I put the bike in the car and go where ever I feel.
