Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't think I could stand listening to anymore shute from Mary McAleese as she spouts on about Elizabeth speaking a few words of Irish

The way she mouthed 'Wow!' when she did it, talk about still having a mindset of being a satellite orbiting them.

I know, the Dutch can be very defensive about their royals. A few years back when I was in the Netherlands a Dutch guy I was talking to mentioned something about crown princess Maxima (now queen), I flippantly asked if she was huge, given the name, I didn't half get a lecture on having respect for them. FFS, we bitch and moan about the office of President here but at least we get to choose and it' cost a hell of a lot less that what most European royal households cost.

Privately he attributes his and the Queens longevity to the odd "shot of Paddy's" of a evening!

surely that should read "Shooting Paddies", or do the royals not do that any more.

I'm in London for a few nights next week, I could do without a royal falling off the perch.

Although I've never visited the Tower of London, I'm bought my tickets already so a beheading might be the craic.

Worried ? No why would I be worried. I mean it's clear that when he and queen Elizabeth II do die it will be a huge story around the world.

My sister, her husband and some of their friends have had a 'Dead pool' running for the last few years. Every Christmas they all top it up by 20e into a bank account. In the 5 or so years, none of the 'nominated ' have died until Gay last week. My sister has him and will get about 800e. If Phil the Greek dies brfore midnight Xmas day they've to share it 500/300.
