Peter Kay is writing a new six part Sit-com for the BBC 'Car Share'. I think this is his first proper series since Max and Paddy, the Phoenix Nights Spin Off.

    http://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2013/03/24/17492/peter_kay_jumps_to_bbc_one
Peter Kay is to make his first sitcom for BBC One 'Car Share', about two supermarket workers in a car-share scheme.
In an unique move, all episodes of Car Share will all premiere on BBC iPlayer before they air on BBC One.

The BBC says: ‘They play John and Kayleigh who have been thrown together in a company car share scheme, forcing their paths to cross as they journey to their respective jobs at a major out of town supermarket. Each journey brings fresh insight into John and Kayleigh's lives, with twists and turns in their unlikely relationship. The series is set and will be filmed in the north-west.

The premise is nothing special, but hopefully Peter Kay can strike gold. BBC One could do with a comedy hit, fingers crossed for this one.

Amazon have ordered a pilot based on the 2009 film Zombieland, now this is something that could be great if they have the right person making it,

it says "Filling in the roles of Woody Harrelson et al. are Kirk Ward, Tyler Ross, Maiara Walsh, and Izabela Vidovic"

the speculation is that they will play the roles of the main cast in the film, that is probably by biggest problem with this, theyd be better off just using the tome of the film, and some character characteristics, but not the same characters,

i wouldnt mind a Zombie kill of the week every week though:D:D:D

Netflix is teaming up with the creative force behind "The Matrix" action movie franchise for a new science fiction series that will be available only to subscribers of the video streaming service.
"Sense8," a 10-episode series described as a tale of minds linked and souls hunted, will debut on Netflix in late 2014, Netflix said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Several years ago, we had a late night conversation about the ways technology simultaneously unites and divides us, and out of that paradox 'Sense8' was born," directors Andy and Lana Wachowski said in a statement.
"Sense8" is the siblings' first television project. The Wachowskis were behind "The Matrix" movie trilogy and films like "V for Vendetta" and "Speed Racer."
"Sense8" marks the latest foray into original programming by Netflix, following the Kevin Spacey political drama "House of Cards." All 13 episodes of "House of Cards" were released exclusively to Netflix subscribers in February.
The Wachowskis will work with Joe Straczynski, who wrote the story for the 2011 movie version of "Thor," with whom they said they share "a love of genre and all things nerdy."

Martin Scorsese is developing his hit 2002 film Gangs of New York into a TV series.

The 70-year-old director is working alongside Miramax to adapt his Academy Award-nominated film into a potential series

Speaking about the project, Scorsese said: "This time and era of America's history and heritage is rich with characters and stories that we could not fully explore in a two-hour film.

"A television series allows us the time and creative freedom to bring this colourful world, and all the implications it had and still does on our society, to life. I am excited to partner with Miramax in telling these stories."

The series, which has yet to be tied to a US TV network, will reportedly draw from the events that took place in the movie, and will be set at the turn of the century.

The action is said to be set in both Chicago and New York.

Chairman for Miramax Richard Nanula said that Scorsese's "dedication to quality and the art of storytelling continues to excite everyone that works with him". Nanula added: "We could not think of a better partner for this project than the creator of the wonderful film on which it is based."

A&E orders Those Who Kill to series with a 10 episode order: http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/04/those-who-kill-orders-ten-episodes.html

“Those Who Kill” is based on a popular Danish crime series format inspired by the bestselling work of author Elsebeth Egholm. The series centers on Catherine Jensen (Chloë Sevigny), a freshly minted and incredibly smart police detective who tracks down serial killers. Jensen is also attempting to come to terms with her past by continuing to investigate her stepfather, who she suspects may be a serial killer, and her brother who went Missing as a sixteen-year-old. Jensen enlists the help of Thomas Schaffer (James D’Arcy), a forensic psychiatrist, to help her get into the minds of serial killers, all the while luring Schaffer into her own personal investigation. Both characters possess a deep psychological understanding that connects them to the killers' victims and to the killers themselves.

“’Those Who Kill’ is not a crime procedural about serial killers – it’s a deep serialized character portrait of two compelling yet damaged individuals coming together through the revelation of their dark past,” said DeBitetto. “We are thrilled to have such an incredible cast and crew signed on to this project and the result should be an absolutely riveting series.”

The BBC has commissioned new dramas by award-winning scriptwriter Jimmy McGovern and the creator of Hustle Tony Jordan.

BBC's Controller of Drama Commissioning Ben Stephenson announced the projects at a keynote speech he gave at MIPTV.

He said: "Both of these new commissions are passion projects for Jimmy McGovern and Tony Jordan - and are projects only the BBC would make."

McGovern has teamed up with RSJ Films to create an eight-part serial for BBC Two. The untitled series will be set in the late 1780s and will focus on the deportation of unwanted British citizens to the other side of the world.

The title and cast of the upcoming programme - which will be told through the eyes of convicts James Freeman, Tommy Barrett and Elizabeth Quinn - is expected to be announced in the coming months.

Meanwhile Tony Jordan - whose previous projects include Hustle, Life on Mars and The Nativity - has written The Great War to air on BBC One next year as part of the channel's coverage to mark 100 years since the start of World War I.

The series will follow the journey of two young soldiers who enlist in the army, with each of the five half-hour parts set in the chronological years of the war.

Jordan explained: "The story looks at all aspects of the war - from the families left behind to the strategic decisions by generals that led to unimaginable bloodshed and the men fighting in the trenches - no one is unaffected by this global war."

Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost) will write the Berman/Braun produced entry from Universal Television.

He discovers that his simple country view on life is at odds with the big city, filled with orcs and other magical creatures. Robert Hewitt Wolfe (Alphas) will write and executive produce the UCP effort alongside producer Aaron Kaplan.

    Shelter
A massive meteorite is headed toward Earth, forcing 30,000 hand-picked humans to live underground in a government funded shelter in order to start a new society. What begins as a Utopia quickly succumbs to the old human faults and jealousies as certain members of society create alliances to gain favor and power. Meanwhile, things on the surface are not what they seem. Humans slowly realize that this event may have been fated and the survivors meant for a greater purpose in rebooting life on Earth. Bruce Joel Rubin (Deep Impact) will write and executive produce the UCP project with writer/co-executive producer/writer Ari Rubin.

Nice, some good ideas, I bet pretty much every one of them will be terrible though, as in Terra Nova levels of awfulness...

We need new Star Trek and no prequel/reboot sh1te either, make the Borg scary again and set it after the events of the Dominion War.

Infinity sounds a lot like Star Trek: Voyager without Janeway or the Federation and Shelter sounds to me an awful lot like Babylon 5 Version 2.0 tbh.

Dead on Thargor. It's time for the return of Star Trek, and proper Star Trek too, none of this JJ Abrahams sh|te. I've always thought a BSG style darker, grittier Star Trek might be bloody great!

Lot of people properly aren't aware that this is a sequel to the film Legion. Really hoping it goes to series as there is a hell of a lot of potential in the concept.

I really dislike Abrams and the manner in which every season sees him bringing out a dozen new shows. The network seem to see his name as some mark of quality when in fact most of the stuff he has done on TV since Alias has been pretty poor. There are dozens of great sci-fi projects out there that aren't getting a look in.
