UPC runs the entire MMDS and practically all of the cable network (outside outposts such as Dungarvan and Longford). But not all UPC users are equal in hardware terms.

For a start there are two platforms, MMDS and cable.

Then there are four different hardware setups:

    *UPC Horizon.
    *"classic" UPC
    *NTL
    *Chorus

Which set top box do I have?
*If you have Horizon, you'll know it. You'll be billed with a Horizon package and have the fancy new EPG.
*If you have Chorus, you'll also know it, as you'll have the Chorus-branded green EPG.
*If your box says NTL on it, you have the NTL EPG.
*If your box says UPC on it, and isn't Horizon, you'll usually have the "classic" UPC EPG - but - some late NTL hardware was rebranded with the UPC logo, and the NTL EPG was recently re-skinned to look like the UPC EPG. However, there are tell tale signs. The surest question to ask is, have you On-Demand? If so, you have the UPC EPG. If your remote has a Browse button on it, it will be NTL hardware.

With the launch of Horizon its even more important that posters indicate clearly what hardware they have for hardware related queries.

    Thanks.
