Pieces of cloth, identity markers, jingoistic banners or just really cool to look at? Whatever your reasons, you most likely have a few favorite flags. We're going to find out what our collective favourite is here over the next while. There are 195 countries in total represented here so we've a good lot to get through!

This the Boards Ultimate Flag of the World Tournament!

    Rules for Round 1 are;

All draws are made by a random number generator.
First to get 5 votes progresses.
30 minute time limit per match.
In the case of a draw or undecided match, I'll cast a vote.

If Poland drank too much zubrowka, fell and landed on it's head, it would speak french.

Voting for Oman because I've never seen that flag before.

    Oman, because of the swords.

Hopefully Ireland and Ivory Coast don't get drawn against one another.

    Rwanda.
I've never seen it before gives a sense of safety and tropical relaxation. Nothing bad would happen there !

Rwanda, that’s a nice looking flag.

It would be remiss of me not to ask that moderators, and the OP, not to try and “engage” with their, usual, brand of lame banter.

That’s been the lowest point of all of these threads. And, if it’s going to be “heavily” moderated it should just be moved to that, dreadful, “Games Forum” place.

    Vote ''counted'', thanks.

Rwanda comes back and takes the lead. Their old flag was terrible, look it up! Next up we will see at least one Asian powerhouse fall.

Tuvalu. There aren't enough Union Jacks in the world already.

Rwanda, much better than their old flag.

Japan, nice and simple. No mistaking it for anyone else's.

Japan - an iconic flag. Simplistic but not vertical/horizontal line simple.

The Union Jack is an immediate disqualifier for what could otherwise be a nice flag and possible winner of this matchup.

    Philippines.

Japan rises to the occasion and hits Round 2. A trio of less familiar nations now. Which flag is best?
